The CEL is the key and you need to have a code reader that reads both OBD2 and ABS codes to make sure. More than likely the Service Active Handling message was caused by the code that generated the CEL but you can't just guess you have to ensure there is nothing wrong in the ABS system as well. If the message was caused by the code that caused the CEL there will be an ABS code that indicates there has been no ABS system failure and the failure is located elsewhere. This helps the mechanic eliminate searching in the wrong place for the cause of a message.

I am attaching the diagnostic procedure which has a description of how the circuit works. You will not be able to do the scan tool diagnostics unless you have a Tech 2 but there are other tests in the procedure that you can conduct without a scan tool.
You will need a 10 Meg Ohm input Digital Multimeter to do the tests. Less than 10 Meg Ohms and the meter itself can sometimes affect a circuit and give you an erroneous reading.

I think that was the code I got, but it ended up being the gas pedal being replaced. I had the reduced power message and the car engine would not rev at all. I think I could go 3 milers per hour. Anyway there is a sensor in the gas pedal that went bad.....and at 19k miles.

Any progress on this since your last post, SBMVP16? We're here if you have any dealer/recall/warranty related questions, and will help as much as we can if you have other inquiries.
