Default Windshield part number

Since it cannot be fixed. I need a new windshield.

There are more than one part number for the windshield. Does anyone know the correct part number for my '08Z ?

It has an HUD.

Bummer.

I would also like to know, mine is micro-pitted and needs to be replaced, as well.

I had my windshield replaced because of pitting by First Call Auto Glass at this link http://firstcallautoglass.com/about.php. I don't know that they offer service to your location but you can call them.

I requested the Pilkington OEM glass the picture you took matches mine except for the GM logo. I did see the Pilkington sticker on the glass before it was installed. The part number on my receipt is DW01588GBYN, it's list prices was $1250 but they sold it for $655 plus $125 for the installation. Good Luck!

Here is a GM link too http://www.mycertifiedservice.com/Pa...windshield.jsp

Most damage is covered by your Comprehensive Insurance. Before buying anything talk to your insurance company first. Windshield replacement comes under your comprehensive policy and doesn't count as an accident so can't affect your insurance rates.

What else do I need besides the windshield ? any plastic parts or weatherstrip ?

what if I didn't take one with gps ? anything will go wrong ? my car has the onstar.

Good work finding the OEM part numbers! This link describes all you will need, http://store.gmpartshouse.com/parts/...&siteid=214638. It would not hurt to check with a local auto glass shop too for a lower price.

How about checking the salvage yards ? Is that a good idea to buy a used windshield ?

I personally would not buy a used windshield, it will have pits and chips. You will be much happier with a new one. The link you have does have a lower price, and if there is a local auto glass shop in your area it will be cheaper. They will have their own part number for the GM part number.

Well , I'm afraid of making an online order and the windshield has to come from US to Saudi, and you know it's a glass !!!

except if insurance is an option.

Few years back I ordered an SS spoiler for my Z28 and it arrived with some cracked corners !!!
