Default Redeeming the Z06

There's been plenty of hate on the 2015 C7 Z06 since it came out. Heaviest vette ever made, heat soaking baby blower, weak *** tune from the factory, etc. Well I'm here to lift everyone's spirits! The C6Z set the bar when it came out. You gota love how a 10year old car can still hang in stock form.

Here's a video from the Quick 30 event put on by Texas Speed Syndicate at Royal Purple Raceway over the weekend.
2006 Z06 vs 2015 Charger Hellcat with an auto

And here's another at TX2K, same vette vs 2015 TA Viper. Suck it Mopar! C6Z FTW!

lol too much butt hurt on the internet.

I've yet to get a race with a C7 Z06. That's the next comparison I'd like to see.

Yep - C7 Z06 vs C6 Z06 with the same tires would be very interesting indeed!

What I would like to see is a Heads&Cam C6Z pulling 515 to 550 rwtrq. With additional areo, say a Kateck track attack car. Same tires as C7. Against a stock C7Z06 Z07 on a road course like VIR.

That would be a fair race, and I suspect a drivers race.

BTW, the LeMans Blue Z looks like the (formerly owned by) LMR record holder?

My Wife's car at stock power levels was nearly 2 seconds per lap quicker than a new C7Z with comparable drivers at New Jersey Motorsports Park Lightning. At VIR the difference would be even greater.

Car weighed 3066 then. It weighs under 3 now and makes 540/510. Pulls almost exactly the same as an ACR-X with 3.55's.

Still a drivers race though in the end. Both cars are extremely fast and require someone at the wheel that can access their performance.

That's actually Turbotuner20v's vette. It's a C6 with a widebody and F1x. The LMR vette is in Saudi Arabia I think.

I believe it! My car is light as is being an 06. Without the runflats it's about 3060lbs with a 1/3 tank.

Something seems a bit off that a stock Z would pull on a new Viper. I have seen other videos of H/C Z's having trouble with the new Viper. Good kills none the less.

Gearing and RPM make a big difference. I also ditched the runflats. Here's one with a Gen 5 TA Viper with full bolt-ons. We didn't get a clean hit since he just went and I was getting ready to 3honk, but you can clearly see how this viper pulls harder in every gear. Subtle differences, and his car lost a few lbs too with the new headers and exhaust.

Go Get em! That's awesome! Love the vid! Love the kill! Those Hellcats are cool if you need 4 doors but then again, give me a V Series Caddy! Makes me wish I had a C6Z!

I hate to rain on everyone's parade but if you think a bone stock C6Z is going to pull a properly driven Gen V Viper...then all of you need to stop smoking crack. I don't really care to hear about the gearing argument either...they will not make up for an over 100WHP/100WTQ difference.
