Would a 700hp Corvette Z06 Make You Re-Think Driving an All-Electric?
Genovation Cars is building an all-electric prototype built from a 2006 Corvette Z06, which is expected to have a 0-60 time of 3.0 seconds.

I've been known to be wrong every once in a while but that sure looks a lot like a ZR1 and NOT a Z06.
I guess it must be the ZR1 badge and fender but what do I know.

Driving an all electric car would be about as much fun as going to an appliance race. In the tower lane 2015 whirlpool, spectator side 2014 LG , both on the spin cycle. Which will finish first? Who really cares. Not me. Ron B.

Really the only thing missing would be the exhaust note which, admittedly, is a big omission. However, A P85D Tesla would stomp on a C7, top speed excepted. So, don't think electric equals wimpy. Drive a Tesla and the max torque off the line is incredible. It blew my mind. Would I trade my C7 for it? No.

Don't care how fast and how much torque EV's have, just not for me. You are so limited to the distance you can go without being stranded.
Let me put it this way, would any one of you guy's fly on an electric jet?
Didn't think so!

I already drive a new Prius Plug-In that delivers about 83 MPG. This car costs me about 38.00 dollars a month in fuel.
The BMW I traded in cost me about 285.00 a month in fuel.
The difference is damn near the payment on the Prius.
I absolutely would buy a Corvette Plug-In that goes 0-60 in 3.0 seconds if for no other reason than to laugh my *** off as I pass you up.
BTW... the '66 Coupe gets about 12 MPG.

as for me.... mY 03 z06 can do 34 mpg (flat elevation 70mph crusing) and mid 20s easy city ... I cant see something being best of both worlds.... actually when I debated(tough times) selling THe reasoning was that for the money and MPG its was the best bang for the buck.. the performance and looks is as AStonishing BONUS.... Ironically I got thru the "tougher" times and Now its Drag Car Dedicated .. Havent re-calculated the MPG HAHAHA!!

But when you're ready for the big time, build up a machine to run in the top fuel hot water & bleach class. Nothing else like the sound and fury of a AA/Fuel Washer!
Back on topic, a 700hp electric sports car could be a lot of fun, especially if they can keep the weight within reason. The problem is the batteries: big battery = more range, but heavy, small battery = lighter, but less range, even with modern technology.
What electric cars really need is a road system with copper strips on either side of a slot in the middle of each lane. Or maybe overhead powerlines. Or electrified rails. Or...?
