Default c6z clutch problem

Hey guys, i just put a replacement motor in a c6z and am having a clutch problem. The clutch is a basically new stock ls7 clutch, it only had about 100 miles on it and worked perfect in this same car with same hydraulics. When i push the clutch to floor it is impossible to get trans in gear, the car will push forwards just trying to put it in gear. If i release clutch to about half way out it will go right in gear. Once in gear if i push it the rest of way in it will start to drive the car again. And when i release the clutch it has a very high release point to drive the car. I bled it multiple times with no changes. What in the world would let the clutch engage while fully depressed yet not while half way? Please help
