Default 50/50 balance

Our C6 Z,s are accepted as a perfect 50/50 front rear balance. i read some specs on the C7 Z claiming the same 50/50 balance. The cars are very close to the same layout so how do you add a supercharger and related parts to the engine, 100-150 lbs and still maintain the balance? Thought briefly about the magnusson heartbeat supercharger until I read the added weight. Can't believe the lt4 is that much lighter than the LS7.
Thoughts, opinions?

Well the c7z is around 35xx lbs. so it's not "light". I think a centri supercharger kit is 80-100 lbs. I think if you go with a catless X pipe and long tubes you should save a bit of weight. Also if you go with a lighter clutch and other areas to shave weight. I weighed my car at the race track without me in it, it weighed 3,060lbs. Even with a supercharger you will be significantly lighter than a c7 z06. If you are really concerned with staying 50-50, you can corner balance the car after a blower

Motor Trend weighed a C7 Z06 with the M7 and it was 51/49.

C6 ZR1 has a weight distribution of 51/49.

Dave Hill said the C6 Z06 had a weight distribution of 49.3/50.7, at the April 2005 bash at the NCM.

C&D weighted a Stingray and it was 49.4/50.6, so the supercharger on the C7 Z06 does add weight to the front of the C7 Z06.

The C7 weighs 500 pounds more than a C6. That's like pulling a trailer with the C6...

thanks, I got the 50/50 figure from the GM site. what was I thinking? And only a few 2009-2011 C6Z's had valve guide problems!

That's a good weight. Any more details: year, full tank of gas, mods?

It should be much lighter now with new tires, that was with the old run flats. That was 3/4 tank of fuel, not a full tank as it should be for a true "curb weight". Wasn't planned, we just stuck it on the scales after installing Hinson mounts all around.

Its an '06 2LZ (yes those heavy side airbags will go away when I go Caravaggio). Only weight related changes I can think of:

- RPS street twin lite clutch w/steel flywheel
- Kooks headers/cats/Corsa (could be heavier or lighter than stock in aggregate, I don't know)

Only thing that added weight was the Lingenfelter oil tank upgrade and the topped off washer fluid.

C7 Z06 weighs 315 pounds more than the 2013 C6 Z06.

Not nearly that much between a C7 Stingray and base C6.
