07 stock Z06 trans issues T56 vs T6060 /replace clutch too?
I have a Stock 07 Z06 with 22k. I was having issues down shifting from 2nd to 1st (grinds unless completely stopped). Then started at random grinding when down shifting from third to 2nd to the point where it wouldn't go into gear. After I stopped and shifted through the gears again everything would work perfectly fine until the next random "grind".
Then I had a random wheel lock up (passenger side rear). Literally looked like a Peg leg burnout.
All gears still work pretty good. I drained the fluid though a wire mesh kitchen sifter....no metal. I also stuck a magnet in through the bottom and didn't get any metal.
Car goes into first and reverse no problem.....still seems to drive pretty good but Trans has horrible grumbling noise (clutch out in neutral) noise is definitely coming from trans (had it in the air on hoist). When driving, noise is much more pronounced in higher gears (not necessarily speed related)
Any Ideas on what broke?
Pretty sure it needs to come out.
What to do......
1) Have someone fix whats broke on my t-56?
2) Replace with T6060?
3) Replace with rebuilt RPM T56 or T6060?
Should I consider replacing the clutch?
Whats typical clutch life on a stock Z06?
If I can get another 20K it will last several more years. Car is stock but i plan on getting the heads done to fix the valve guide issue. (I'm even more paranoid after the trans issue).
Cam and headers....eventually
Thanks for reading!
Any feedback is appreciated it!

Have you checked your clutch fluid and flushed it via the ranger method?

Yea, I mean I understand you probably have transmission issues... my comment was more directed towards finding a cause... thats very low miles to have any sort of issues unless there was a clutch issue for a while or you were excessively hard on the car.

I agree. I Love to drive this car but don't think I'm excessively hard on it. I had the clutch pedal stick down once. Should I replace the slave cylinder and or master cylinder? inspect for seepage? Thanks for your help!

My t56 has been living a happy happy long life at high power levels. Nothing wrong with a t56. They are a great transmission.

I track day mine most weekends and have no issues still on stock clutch and t56, have approx 620 flywheel power.
I don't drag race though maybe that helps towards the life of the clutch.
