Default After driving, Shut off, no start

So every once in a while if i am driving around and i shut the car off, if i try to start it right back up it either slow starts like the battery is weak or it just wont start.

This has been going on every since i had work done to the car.
Heads fixed, torquer 110 cam, Kooks headers, NGK plugs, Ported intake and throttle body.

If the car does starts up after that weak slow crank, everything feels off.
check engine Light stays on, ABS stays on, sometimes RPM guage doesnt move, car is weak, backfire is hard, all in all very rough.

If i shut the car off and let it sit and cool it will return to normal after a few hours.

Today it happened after pumping gas at the station... wouldnt go on. Also its cold here in NY so the car cant be that hot when this happened.
Sitting there in the gas station with a yellow corvette that wont turn on is pretty embarrassing. Someone once mentioned it could be the TPS is off? But when the Computer is cleared that goes away? Any other ideas here.

This is a starter issue, as when it gets hot it draws more amperage.

I have the same issue, I rebuilt my starter and it seemed to work better for a week, then back to your issues above. I only get one start a month as you describe so yours may be in worse condition.

I'm running the torque 116, I have also been told it could be to much advance in the tune.

A high torque starter should fix it.

Check the wiring to your starter, the stud on the solenoid, that everything is tied into could be cooked.

Id check all the connections first..... at the battery (in case they pulled a terminal working on the car) and the starter connections for same reason.

Are you sure its not just the battery? Measure it with engine running and not, then use a load tester if you have one. These cars are very sensitive to voltage.

Mine did the exact same thing like a dozen times randomly over the past 2 years. Stock last year, HCI earlier this year. It took jump starts or several attempts to get it to start after it acted up on me. Whether hot or cold, it made everything go haywire and lit up my dashboard. The last straw for me was when i got gas at 6am and my car barely started on the 2nd try. I ordered a new battery after that. Changed out the battery last week and now I can tell the difference just by the start up alone. I was wondering if it was my starter too, but in my case, it ended up just being a bad battery.

Exactly your headers cook the starter

If it dragged in the morning you would need a battery, go to kragen or orielys and they will check battery, you will yours OK

The stock batteries are great and long lived compared to many aftermarket ones.

Heat from the headers cooked the starter and/or the solenoid, happens all the time.

While true, mine started this slow drag in the morning only after a H/C/I just like OP and I have no headers.

So it does have an effect as now having more compression.

Ill probably do a high torque gear reduction

On my car, high underhood temps from the blower and the heat from the headers killed two starters before I figured it out. And the power leads this last time. So now the starter and the positive and negative leads are all wrapped. so far so good.
