I dropped the car off with Todd at Doug Rippie Motorsports today! He said he was going to work on taking the heads off in the next couple days and ship them to AHP. He had 3 other cars in the shop at the time-a track-only C5Z, a red C5Z, and an older track car/non-GM that he was going to drop an LS7 into. He said that car would only weigh 2300lbs with the motor.
I asked him if my 2" AR headers were there. He walked me over to them, kind of smiled and said "probably a little overkill" and continued on. He also commented on how nice the AR stuff was. I Asked him if they were visibly much larger than the 1 7/8. He smiled, grabbed one and brought it next to the 1 7/8 AR headers that were going into the red C5. I was surprised how much bigger they were.
Todd said he would most likely do a baseline dyno run today. He has a Dynojet and remarked that it tends to run a little low compared to other dynos in the vicinity.

Who ever said overkill was a bad thing?! You're in good hands with DRM...

My heads literally just arrived at Doug Rippie Motorsports from AHP this morning. There was a couple week delay at AHP. If I did it again, I would just swap out with one of their core sets instead of having mine reworked. I know it most likely does not matter, but there's something reassuring about getting your own parts back.
I'm sure Todd at DRM has everything buttoned up that he could while the heads were off. It's been a hard few weeks, especially with the beautiful weather up here (minus today) but it will all be with it.

Final dyno numbers
543hp, 487tq. I thought it would be a bit higher being it made so much in stock form. Todd thought that the stock tb and larger headers may have limited me some. I'm hoping to pick it up tomorrow if I can get some of my shift covered.

That's really a pretty good pickup in power, 74 hp at the rears. I've been following your thread, I had a btr stage 2 cam and non ported MSD installed last week and plan to pick up my car on Monday. I ended up with 536/495, I have WCCH heads ported/non mill, ported Oem TB, Kooks LT, no cats w/Akrapovic Axleback. It's hard to compare others results since these dynos vary drastically. My car dynoed 500/478 when I replaced my heads in 2013 (everything above minus btr stage 2 and MSD), last week same dyno NO changes since 2013 except 7k addtl Miles and it put down a baseline at 483/463, 17/15 loss with no changes on my car and same dyno four years later, which leaves me further believe dynos are not consistent. Your gain is pretty respectable imo, as you are probably as excited as me get your car back and see how it performs with the newly added goodies. Have fun and congrats on your build!

Thanks Mac. Congrats to you as well. I talked to a couple people, including Todd at Doug Rippie, and they think the 469 baseline dyno may be a bit suspect. Both think that I prob gained closer to 90-100 hp real world. Todd said 469 was the highest essentially stock ZO6 he has ever had on the dyno. He also thought the stock tb may be limiting me some.
I left at 5am this morning and got there at 830. When he first started it, I was surprised at how wonderfully nasty it sounded! I don't think I've had that big of a grin on my face in quite a while. When it calmed down it had an excellent lope to it.
Of course I picked the worst day in the last 2 months to drive it home. I could not wait any longer though. It rained the entire three hour drive home to Fargo and was around 45 degrees out. It has very good manners from what I can tell and very minimal surging in 4th and 5th around 1500rpm. Maybe the cold wet weather affected it slightly, don't know.
Hats off to Todd and the crew at DRM
