[Z06] Considering XPEL Ultimate...
#22
I'm in SoCal. I did the paint correction myself. Plus the clear bra hides light swirling. Suntek is self healing like Xpel and comes with a 5 year warranty but their new product now comes with a 10 year warranty.

Hi guys he did the full bumper, full hood, headlights, full front fenders, full rear fenders, lower rockers, mirrors, and a small strip on the lower doors. He used a plotter and included wrapping all possible edges. For what it's worth, he told me xpel would have been about 30% higher. This was also 1.5 years ago.

Like SSBOWTIE1, I had the Suntek film done to mine back in October of 2015. I got the full kit deal, including the full hood, full fenders, front bumper, headlights, mirrors, door cups and kickups.
So far very pleased with it all for $1,345.00 total. It was done by Sierra Invisible Shield, here in Sparks, Nevada.

If that includes rear fenders that's a smoking deal!

I purchased the precut kit here from a vendor and did my own: rear of front fender, rockers, front of rear wheel. Not too difficult and it turned out very well. Watched 2 videos and took my time. Seems to be holding up.
Forgot what the kit cost, (<200) but labor was free.
ill do front bumper soon... think i have the hang of it now.

I had 1/2 hood, nose, front of front fenders, mirrors, rockers and front of rear fenders completed when my car was still new. Day one I took it to the installer and he did an incredible job. I was skeptical about the lines showing, but they've never been an issue. It still looks great 7 years later! Here's a photo...That's his Viper in the background with every inch of paint wrapped! Definitely shop the installer!!

Nice pics guys! Thanks for all the feedback so far from everyone.
Ok so here’s where I am at and what I was looking to do. There was a little confusion on the pricing of the full fenders, and this is the actual prices:
Front bumper $500
Full hood $650
Headlights $125
Full rear fenders: $600
Full front fenders: $600
That comes to $2475.00, which doesn’t include prep/paint correction. He said he’d do it for $2600.00 which will include prep/paint correction on the area’s to be covered.
I think that’s reasonable for what this stuff costs, and to have it done by a certified installer who has a top notch reputation.
With that said, I’m on the fence, because damn, that’s just a lot of money when you think about it, to have a clear film applied to parts of the car.
I’m also about to spend $2k+ getting a new cam installed. Just spend almost a grand on new rear tires. It’s like I just bought the car which is mint with only 9800 miles and already looking at another $5k into it. **** adds up!

With regard to the prep, I have always done my own exterior maintenance but I don't have an orbital polisher for actual paint correction, and have no experience using one. He's ultimately only charging $125.00 for the prep, so no big savings to do it myself. Plus I think it's best to let him do everything. Not only is he the expert, but then there is no question with any application or warranty issues.

I've had my Z06 covered with Xpel Ultimate since 2013 and my Z/28 for a year. No issues the cars look like the day they were covered. For cleaning you use Xpels cleaning solution.
Those sound like great prices.

Actually, no. It started getting too expensive and had to cut it off somewhere. Wanted to fully cover the main areas of concern and $3,000.00 was my limit for fancy saran wrap! I figure I can just touch up those little areas if need be.
