He told me it dipped at 6350rpm which is very normal he said no car ls7 has gone past that really most dip around here

Power falling off at 6350 rpm with that size cam sounds early to me. I see BTR 3, K501, etc builds that are still making power well past that. To me, it sounds like your OE manifold is choking the motor. Again, without the graph I don't know if its severely falling off or just slightly tapering off...

Do cats really affect the HP and TQ that much? My car is at AHP right now getting their #4 heads, ported, polished, milled, long tube headers, x pipe with high flow cats, exhaust and dyno tune. I was told awhile ago by a lot of people on here that going with no cats might only get you about 5 HP over high flow cats so I chose high flow cats. Are high flow cats at risk of becoming clogged up and affecting performance?

Good functioning cats, no problem. Clogged cats can destroy a motor quickly.

I got the ARH high flow catted x pipe so in my opinion they are pretty good quality/functioning cats. So I'm hoping there are no issues.

I have high flow catted X-pipe on my build and it is fine. Most K501 cams peak around 66-6700 rpm for HP. The BTR4 cam is at least as strong as the K501 so peak should be up there as well. Mine with MSD/NW102 peaked at 7100 rpm and had low torque but held it well.

Cats are only as good as the tune. Excess fuel kills cats quickly.

You think I should gut them and get a dyno else where?

could be a tooth off.

Local guy got his a tooth off and I dont think it even threw a code, but was WAY down on power when he took it to get tuned.

I thought it didn't matter much ls7 lifters have a wide range I'll get Abel at Chevrolet to check the preload for me maybe I did it wrong. If I change pushrods do I need a new tune?

I said nothing about the pre-load... how did you get "check the preload" out of me saying your cam could be a tooth off which would cause reduced power, but not necessarily be far enough off to throw a code.

When you put the cam in were you dot to dot on the gears? Did you spin the motor over completely a few times to make sure the dots re lined up?
