I am running a set of R888Rs. Rear size is 345/30x19.
They are totally quiet for me up to 80mph.
Have yet to get them on the track. They look great though!

My previous tires were R888s in the same size.
Limited time on the R888Rs at this time. I took the car out for a cruise and went up to 80 mph on the highway with the roof off and the tires had below average noise levels imo.
Really I only got on it hard in a straight line one time, I did a roll at about 25mph in 2nd in to 3rd and it did it's usual, it fishtailed till about 65 mph when I let off. The tires were fully warmed up by then. There is so much to spinning though. Greasy road? Asphalt or concrete? Etc. I always run with all nannies off. I get sideways pretty often (like all the time) and just playing around the R888Rs definitely had more hook in those slow going turning circumstances, but the R888s that were removed were toasted so that doesn't mean much either.
The R888Rs are notably wider than the R888s that were removed. The rears are 5/8" wider in the exact same size!
I bought them for street and track days and I think it's going to prove to be the best tire choice in my required sizes.

Here is a comparison of the same size Toyos, the R888 on the left, the R888R on the right.
I had a significant size increase on my front 275/35x18s as well, although not that much.

You will be pleased to know that one of the main reasons Toyo produced the R888R is so that it would be in compliance with noise regulations in Europe. That along with the improved handling and more contact patch should make it a good tire for your car.
This interested me as the last R spec tires I had sounded like a set of snow tires when I was on the highway. This drove me nuts after a while. For those historians, those tires were Yokohama A-032Rs.

In my experience (coming from an evo) the 888r's suck. Loud and don't grip well at all. I swapped to a set of old RE71r's and went 2 seconds per lap faster. The Z06 I just purchased has the r888, hopefully they are better...then on to rivals.

Finally got some miles on my recently mounted R888rs. I agree with those above that have noted these have less of the road hum noise when compared with the R888s. Wet grip is definitely not as good as the 888s, although I haven't used them on the track yet so dry grip still tbd for me. Will report back soon.

Sounds like you had a defective set. I had 2 sets of 71R's before switching to the R888R's and the Toyo's have significantly more grip and don't get greasy like the 71R's. It's widely known that the 71R's overheat quickly and are primarily best for autox and not long track sessions.

Whats the larger 295's up front like on the 888R's? For street driving. Would of preferred a 285 up front. Does it steer track more on curved worn roads cause of width? Like the previous poster said. With a 2.1" difference in height between the 295 and 345 any lights come on?
Thanks for anyone that has experience with these.

I just installed a set (295-18 and 345-18) on my ZR1 last week and ran them at Sonoma Raceway in 102 degree heat yesterday. On a similar day my last set of 888's lead to an offroad adventure when they heated up so I was a cautious during my first session.
Initially I started out at 30 psi cold and later dropped to 28 psi. Each session was 25 minutes long and tire pressure increased 6 psi per session. They are not loud. They did not get greasy. The computer did not complain. They stick like glue. I recommend you give them a try.
Hey Toyo did you like the free ad and will you send me a new set when I wear these out?

I like mine a lot!
ON certain road surfaces they can whine a bit.
Traction has been great so far but I haven't made it to the track on them yet.
