Default What pads you using?

My stock pads feel like ****. Going to try some performance pads before throwing more money at it. Not track raced (heavy repeated braking) but a few 150 plus mph 1/4 mile runs. Since I put the 15s on the back it feels like the fronts don't bite as hard. Suggestions?

Take a look at the Carbotech AX6 compound or XP8.

Carbotech™ AX6™

The AX6™ is specifically engineered for Autocross applications. A high torque brake compound delivering reliable and consistent performance over a very wide operating temperature range of 50°F to 1000°F + (10°C to 537°C+). The advanced compound matrix provides an excellent initial bite, high coefficient of friction at lower temperatures along with very progressive brake modulation and release characteristics. Many drivers use the AX6™ for street driving as well, even though Carbotech™ doesn’t recommend street driving with AX6™ due to possible elevated levels of dust and noise. AX6™ is NOT recommended as a race compound in most applications.

Carbotech™ XP8™

A high torque brake compound with a wide operating temperature range of 200°F-1250°F+ (93°C to 676°C+). Carbotech™ XP8™ is the first of our racing compounds. Good initial bite at race temperatures, high coefficient of friction, excellent modulation and release characteristics. Extremely high fade resistance and very rotor friendly. Perfect for track day use with any tire and can still be driven safely to and from the track. Carbotech™ does NOT recommended XP8™ as a daily driven street pad due to elevated levels of dust and noise. Carbotech™ XP8™ is a great compound on the front & rear of most open wheel and sports racers.

I changed out my stock padlets for the stoptech street performance pads:

Amazon Amazon

Amazon Amazon

and they bite much earlier and harder than the stock padlets. You can't go wrong with the price either.

Yeah, it seems alot of the people on the forum get the carbotechs for street use but there's no ****ing way they're better than the stoptechs, especially for the money. and for the record i think hawks are terrible

I've used Hawk HP Plus and EBC Yellow with good results. Good for autocross & street use. Mild track use is ok as long it's not a big fast course with lots of heavy braking zones like COTA. For Big tracks I use Reybestos ST45 pads ( same ones used by NASCAR on their road course cars). Forgot to mention those all have heavy brake dust.

I use the single piece XT960, great for the track and work on the street. They do squeal occasionally.

XT970: Track dedicated/No compromise - for the dedicated track car.
XT960: Track duty with adequate street capability- Good for HPDE and the Open Track Driver who drives to the track.
XT910: Street pad with moderate track ability - Good for a new HPDE Driver with occasional track days and spirited driving.

I'm using Hawk hp plus, I think. Not liking them, about to pull em out for Stoptechs. I had Hawks on all my cars and this time I'm disappointed. They just don't seem to bite as well as the OEMs to me.
