Default H/C/I C6 Z06 1/4 Mile What time did you run?

I cant seem to find a thread with c6z 1/4 mile times

I might take my car to 1/4 mile tomorrow and was wondering what to expect out of a HCI c6z putting down 580whp on DYNAPACK.. on Toyo R888 tires

Would like some feedback on other members 1/4 mile times, trap speed, and horsepower if anyone has hit the drag strip

Grab some Torc or Boost for a little extra fun. Hopefully you can cool the car between runs. Adjust the tire pressure and shift points, enjoy and be safe.

On toyo with the 1.7 you'd be lucky to cut and wheel hop stock clutch 11.0 at 134

Older thread, but one of the young guys with h,c,i had a PB of 11.57 @ 129. He doesn't understand how to drive yet, so his 10's are still out of reach and 9's are only in his dreams.
The key is seat time and proper tires.

Actually I'm only cam and milled heads no intake, and we're on heavy p zero 335 run flats. With a 2.1 sixty, now let's give me the benefit of the doubt has some good slicks and cut a 1.4 sixty foot after a little seat time, that would be a 10.8 or greater I couldent give the car full throttle either in the runflats. That's in my horrible setup now let's add ported heads intake and TB injectors and 2inch headers and see where it will take me now I dynoed 511/465 and no didn't have traction control on so I spun allot

Oh and don't forget the slicks easy low ten sec car with a professional driver like me

You'll need a lot of seat time to cut a 1.4 sixty foot. If you can even ever do it.

i always tell people going to the track for first time with a car like a HCI c6z, take the time you hope to run and add a full second to it.

I hit Las Vegas Motor Speedway for a test and tune. Cue the sad, disappointing music... I bought the car with a KNN and ARH 1 7/8 headers. I ran a 12.2 @ 122 down at Gulfport Dragway in Mississippi. It was 80 degrees that day. I got the death wobble real bad from the 345/30/19 MPSS tires. Still, not knowing how to launch, I was not terribly displeased.

Fast forward to now, H/C/I/E I put down 558 whp on a stingy mustang dyno on Thursday. Here comes my first ever 11s time slip right? Nope...

My best documented run? 12.6 @ 113. Las Vegas is at 2500 feet, and it was stormy, very humid. There was probably a 20 mph head wind too. Still on MPSS, a new set, again got the death wobble, but not as bad.

Unfortunately, I had a couple better runs, but maybe I crossed the stage lights before actually taking off because under reaction time I had "LB3A" and the 60's were like 4.2s no way I was that bad (hopefully). So all the times are off, but on the second run my mph was back to 122. 3rd run 123 mph. Last run 110, I missed a shift.

Also, I couldn't tell exactly where the end of the track was ?!?, There were some blinky lights on the side of the track so I just ran until I saw those blinking... The 122mph run was in 3rd gear. The 123 mph run was in 4th.

On the back 1/8 mile I was picking up 28 mph, so not bad I guess? I think in good DA I would have gone 125 mph.

I met a guy there with a C7 GS who said he has a bunch of wheel tire combos and he'd just give me some drag radials so I'm all about that (so long as sexual favors are not part of the barter...).

Also, I don't feel too bad because my times were better than a Camaro ZL1, CTSV with roots blower, GT500 with 15 psi boost, and modded Cobra with big blower.

It's all relative, but seat time is where it's at. I read the Ranger instructions a couple times, just need that muscle memory.

To the guy saying he's just going to rip a 1.4 sixty, I believe in you, will only take the right tires and I'm guessing 500 launches at the strip documenting every nuance of throttle, clutch, keeping your parts the same while you dial it in... I had a 91 Eagle Talon TSi AWD, and everybody loves to say the AWD platforms are so easy. I never got better than a 1.9 60 on that either. In the words of Allen Iverson, "we talkin' 'bout practice...."

Dart- LVMS is truly a heartbreaker track due to the generally awful DA's. For your reference, I ran 10.9 at 126 with a 1.60 60ft on drag radials years ago at LVMS, and that was with a very mild 530rwhp (non-mustang Dyno). Two pointers- don't run your car in 100+ degrees and don't run on a non-drag radial if you plan to obtain a decent time. It makes absolutely no sense to run anything but at R-compound tire on the street or track at these power levels, as you run a much greater risk of breaking /crashing from running a regular "street tire" and pedaling to keep control of your vehicle. Drag radials on the street are fine as long as you respect the vehicle and weather conditions, been running them and bias plys on my daily drivers for over a decade with zero issues.

Go back to TNT in October when the weather is better and make sure to run drs.

That almost sounds like my Noob thread

I did get out there with a best 11.77 the first night out and then worked my way down with the help of a few great forum members. Personal best now is 10.14 with a 1.40 60ft and yes Tom dreams will come true pretty soon....well thats the idea anyways lol

Trying to brush off the rust with my launches and shifting, and I had an issue with the car laying down early in the run (7.1@97 MPH ), but on a 1.67 60' and a 5985' DA at Street Car Takeover in Tucson Saturday, I went 10.81@133.15 MPH .
I've run as fast as 10.40@134 with my old setup, so a 133+ MPH trap at 6000' DA looks promising

Dont even worry about "what it should do"
First time out expect chitty times, it can take many attempts to get the most out of what you got, power is only part of the equation. It may take many runs to figure out how it needs to be run, be patient. Having power is only the start..

I'm counting on it to happen this year. Between your mechanical knowledge, humble maturity, dedication to details, and willingness to learn from others that you exhibited in the Noob thread, it was only a matter of time for 9's.
