In state buyers pay sales tax and license based on where you live. There is also an $80 doc fee.
Out of state buyers have a couple of choices. If the car is shipped to you, you pay tax and license in your own state. If you pick up the car and drive away from the dealership, you will have to pay the current San Mateo County sales tax (around 9%). There is also an $80 doc fee.
