HELP! Will tires make a difference on you buying?
hi ... not sure if this note is in the right place but I figured if members are looking to buy, it's going to get replies as I always do when I ask for member advice.
I'm selling a 2015 under warranty and beautiful car. My question: I am close to needing new tires. I can sell "as is " and drop price to allow for tires; offer to pay part of new tire cost when new owner buys tires ( check is in the mail ??) or buy tires now and adjust price for investment.
LEADING TO QUESTION: I can replace with the Michelin's BUT have had Goodyear; Bridgestone ; Hankook and Kumho's on my other Corvettes. I've found all to have positive features so ... if you saw my car for sale ad stating "brand new XXX tires " but they are NOT the Michelin's, would that be a negative ? I've had club members and tire guys say "do not go outside of the GM specs ..which I understand. It's a world class car. But, others who I respect have used non GM tires for replacement including track instructors.
QUESTION (finally !) : if you were buying, would any of the following impact your decision? Car has:
a. existing tires with lower price but new tires needed in less than 3000 miles
b. NEW MICHELIN run flats .. price up by $1500
c. NEW MICHELIN non run flats ... raise price accordingly
d. NEW one of brands listed above NON RUN FLAT with max price bump of $500 over option A
Since this is a real issue, I appreciate your advice ... I have it down to two of the above but look forward to comments. THANK YOU , Bob

thanks to all of you for comment. A bit surprised by the uniform replies as normally there are a variety of opinions. BUT, it tells me a very solid answer. I was concerned about selling with tires needed in the near future ..depending on mileage guys do in a year ...from two to 12 months. Based on your replies, if I sell within a month or two, I'll wait on new tires . But if I add another 1500 miles before selling, I'll replace.
Once again, your comments prove that it's always a good idea to put questions on the Forum . I'll figure out how to get my pic links to show up on Forum this week.

Looking to buy soon, I do look at tires for and consider some adjustment. However, depending on how good of a shopper you are, someone might get a better deal. So you say 3000 for new tires, when someone might get them for 2.
So if you are going to buy new ones to sell it, I would let the new buyer choose (Within reason). Or sell option A.
I guess either way is really option A.

If it was your car with new Michelins or another car with say Hankook or GY, I would choose yours all day long. I wouldn't pay a $1500 premium on it just because it has new tires on it, but tires say a lot about the owner of the car and I would 100% buy it even with used Michelins over a set of new Hankooks.
