That is not the case.
I have successfully transferred points before.
I make the purchaser an authorized user and he/she applies the points at the time of sale.
Normally you don't purchase until you're ready to buy.
I don't know if that's what your reference was.

But I DO KNOW it works, because I've successfully done it( with NO DIFFICULTY WHATSOEVER)

I think it is for new cars only. I could be wrong, but usually these deals for new sales.
