Depending on your father-in-law's need to sell, I would suggest waiting until the spring. I would imagine the seasonal change in price would far out weigh any additional depreciation, and you might be able to get a couple thousand more. Also, assuming you still have the factory wheels, I would sell the HREs separately. GLWS!

It seems like the winter time does not effect sales to bad here in So Cal, I’m definitely going to try and sell the wheels off the car since I know it’s not going to bring to much more valve in the sale, It a shame if that is what happens because I think the wheels really make the car stand out.

Agreed! Sorry didn't know your location. You could always offer the car with the HREs and offer a reduced price if the buyer doesn't want to pay the premium for the wheels. Kind of a catch-22 either you have to overprice the car due to upgrades or put the car back to stock and take away what differentiates it from others on the market. Best of luck!

No matter the region, 38-40k will be a bargain for a 14 in great condition. Its low miles, good color, and options. Not much faith in KBB used. They certainly don't deduct much for vehicles with high ( 150-200k ) miles which I believe should have a major impact on value. Dealers are shopping for privately owned late models and seem to offer competitive values. Auction cars are there for a reason. With no history selling a problem car to a customer may not be in their best interest.

I bought virtually the exact same car last October for 41.9K. It has 37K miles on it. Only differences were all black interior, and black calipers. It might be a little on the high side, but with 14K less miles on it I don't think by much.

Haha. Asking WIW on this forum is a terrible way to get an actual selling price based on people's opinions.

Just list it for what a dealer will sell on his lot, and start reducing the price on each bump by, say $750-$1,500 per week, depending on how much a of a rush you are in. You'll eventually get your buyer. Don't forget to EDIT the price on the first post as well, since many people don't read anything past the first post.
