150 shot on a 2014 Z51 ok to run?
I have a 14z51 with 1 7/8 LT headers catless xpipe and a halltech CAI, and a nitrous outlet single nozzle setup running a 100 shot currently. I asked a couple of performance shops on what would be Safest to run on the C7 consensus seems to be a 100 shot which is what i am currently running.
wanting to go to a open drag strip night soon and was wondering if anyone sees anything wrong with changing to a 150 shot for a couple of passes.
Looking for peoples thoughts on running 150 shot. I know the 100 shot is supposed to be the safest but would it hurt to make a few passes with 150 shot?

I am not running NOS but if some shop that does & seeing these car all the time. I don't think I would do it but then again some other guy in here posted he went from a 100 to 150 and car did good but have not seen anymore on it.
I do know like you should these pistons & rings are the weak point in this motor. Good luck....

We've done a 150 shot on an LT1, it holds it fine. If you are going to increase the shot through the jet size, you will want to adjust the timing too.
I don't think I would go over a 100 shot in less you have -8 or larger PCV lines either. It will need proper crankcase ventilation. I feel like I hear of a lot of the LT1 guys making more than 600whp on the stock crankcase ventilation system end up breaking pistons/lower ring lands.

thabks for the response, the tuner did pull timing for the 150 shot also, he had mentioned should be fine on a 150 shot but would recommend changing out the valve springs as the 14 valve springs are weaker than the later model valve springs?

I'm unfamiliar with the revisions on the GM valve springs on the LT1's, but is usually a good precautionary measure to upgrade springs on higher horsepower cars. As long as the higher spring rate did not have negative affects the AFM lifters or anything else. I don't know of anyone who has done springs only on a Gen5 LT.

on at 3500 and 85% off at 6200. And an LNC 2014 set at 4*.
93 octane, your ported TB and an atomic airforce. If I bump to 150, the recommendation would be 8* or 6*?

2017 GS/A8 so you're recommending -8* retard on 150? My set up is currently at 100 shot nitrous outlet plate, brisk 12rr, winmax

Ran 100 shot on my car with just bolt ons and e85 and then added a cam and turned it up to 150 and had no problem for at least couple of years. Make sure u get a flex fuel sensor and run E85 to be safe and have a good tuner that knows what he is doing tune it
