Default How do I know if my clutch slipping

Hey guys,

My car has a forged internals and a 10 rib ysi setup cam, fuel bump and probably everything its need to make 1000whp on race fuel ,

The only problem im facing that the car drop power past 6300 rpm, do you guys clutch might slip at that rpm range on the dyno? Also on the streets its never get raced under 70 mph, and still drop power past 6300 rpm

That's not the clutch, it would be super jumpy and wavy. That is in the tune. Looks like an LS curve.

What RPM are we looking at though?

What smoothing factor is being used on that graph? As previous poster mentioned, clutch slip would cause a spike(s). A high smoothing factor could mask it.

What RPM are you trying to make power up to? As long as the valvetrain can support it, I agree its in the tune.

Could be the clutch, boost leak, belt slip, or in the tune. What does the boost curve look like?

Is that 787 rwtq in that part of a number that is showing. Agree what RPM and almost any guys putting out cams it will still be pulling power in the 6300 rpm range.

If you have a 416 build motor with a YSI & 10 rib set up that motor will make close to 1100 rwhp & 870 to low 900 RWTQ. Has to be in the tune..Robert

Im trying to reach at least 6800 rpms, its dropped past 6300 and made 865whp at 6300rpm, that was on stock heads stock intake manifold

I thought its a boost leak, since its doesn’t make any more boost than 19 and it should be making more!

You have the boost curve? We could rule out belt slip, but with a 10 rib you shouldn't be slipping. Do you have a secondary fuel system on this car? What is your fueling setup? Meth I am assuming and what injectors and high pressure parts?

Man that's about spot on what my car makes at 14psi on pump gas but I run more timing.

Watching your video your meth isnt ***** out until 11psi. That seems WAAAAY too late IMO.

I think the car is fine. It just has room in the tune on the big end. The car was fat 10 ish A/F on the big end.

I think meth started at 11psi because at the time the runer went full throttle it was 11 psi right away.

I think the run i sent u was one of the couple first tuning runs, check the video I just sent u please

Right but the meth going full pressure is done by a boost reference. Your kit looks to be an alky kit and there is a pressure switch that goes from low to high based on a boost reference. It's not a time thing, it's a boost reference thing. I dont think that at all is your issue on the big end, but it just seems late in the pull to me. 11 psi that is.

I think your issue is the tune. It's fat on the big end.

Yeh I know its boost reference but from where i can make it turn on earlier? I know the switch that have numbers from 1 to 8 isn’t gonna make it turn on earlier
