Default LMR 1000HP - 2016 8spd Auto

It's almost like every car coming into the shop lately wants to build a 900+ rear wheel car. This customer was no exception. This is a 2016 stingray with 8 speed auto.

Build highlights consist of:
  • LMR drop in pistons
  • LMR custom DOD delete cam
  • LMR cylinder heads
  • Procharger F1A
  • LMR low side fuel system
  • Dual nozzle meth

We are starting to love the drop in piston idea. Can throw a bunch of boost at them and maintain stock compression

Give us a call at the shop for more details! More similar builds coming!

He's going to need some new wheels and tires on that thing to use any of that power!

What is your opinion on the drop-in piston (base stingray) vs. Piston/Rod combo on LT4 shortblock?

We love them. So far we have made as much as 953 RWHP with the drop in pistons. And that was with the filter still on the supercharger. Now what we do not know is how strong the stock connecting rods are. We have yet to break any.

On the LT4 pistons and rods, we have made over 1000RWHP and had no issues. We have yet to break an LT4 Rod or piston.

With any High HP build drivetrain components get tested. Some of our customers who race these applications on a weekly basis have had trans/torque converter issues while others are still running strong in factory trim.

I can’t get my 671 whp 8 speed auto to shift into second gear if I dead hook it. If I cut a 1.7 or slower 60 ft it shifts great , Any ideas? The tuner said he had no idea what the problem was

Are you still running the factory trans and torque converter? What about rear tire size?

Feel free to pm if you would like. Curious how much your tuner has played with trans tables....shift pressure, shift time, TCC, etc etc.....
