Default Another WEAPON-X 1000+rwhp C7 hits the streets

We've built yet another F1X C7 Z06, and this one is producing 1008rhwp on the stock bottom end!!!

Here is the mod list:
-Procharger F1X air to air intercooler
-WEAPON-X SPI kit
-WEAPON-X twister camshaft with +32% fuel lobe
-PAC dual .660 springs
-Titanium retainers
-4130 chromoly pushrods
-GM Performance LS7 lifters
-Texas Speed 0 degree cam phaser lockout
-ARP head stud kit
-WEAPON-X billet "CORVETTE" valve covers and big breather/PCV system
-ARH 1-7/8's Longtube Headers and ORX
-Corsa Extreme Axle Back
-Toyo R888R's front and rear

The mods are not done quite yet either, it seems about once a week I receive a text on what to order for this build next. Here are a few other things that are yet to come:
-PUR RS05 wheels 20FR/21RR
-WEAPON7 rear diffuser
-WEAPON7 front chin splitter
-WEAPON-X coil pack relocation

This was actually the same car that we developed our WEAPON-X SPI Kit on. Which you can find out more about here: https://www.corvetteforum.com/forums...di-limits.html

Nice build. He may want to reconsider 21" rear wheels with that power. Lol

How long do you think the stock bottom end will live at this power level?

Gobs of factory LT4 shortblocks north of 1000 wheel. The LT4 seems to be holding just fine.

Good! Thats why i went c7z as i figured it would be cheaper in the long run with big power! Is the stock clutch good for the same?

No.

Well it depends on how you’re going to use the car. Out on the street for just some spirited driving it would be fine. Racing of any kind, no the stock clock will be short lived.

The LT4 is definitely the way to go. There are a lot of LT4 owners exceeding 1000 rwhp on stock shortblock now and even several in the 1200 rwhp. It seems to be as long as you can fuel the LT4 they hold up really well. They have forged CP Carillo pistons from the factory, and the block is supposed to have similar casting characteristics around the cylinder sleeves as a partial filled engine block.

The oem clutches max out around 750-800rhwp. If you are wanting a high power street the Mantic Triple Disc clutch is the way to go.

What is your opinion regarding the 4 bolt heads and north of 20 pounds with boost?.. will the heads start to float?.. are you guys worried?.. I am at 16 pounds and completing port injection soon.. I want to run another couple pounds however my builder is skeptical..

Knock on wood. So far we have not had any issues on the LT's with lifting the heads. Knowing the history of high power aluminum LS blocks pushing coolant I was skeptical at first suggesting that we at least o-ring the LT block/heads. So far we've made over 1200rwhp on Darton sleeved LT blocks. We have done quite a few C7's that have been making over 1000rwhp using the LT4 head gaskets and ARP studs and they have held up just fine. As long as you have a good tune and the proper support I feel comfortable saying you will be okay with 20-22psi.

You will be running E85 correct?

You'll be very happy you went with port injection and E85, the benefits definitely out weigh the cost. Be sure to post up some results when its finished!

How much power can be made on your port injection fuel system with stock cam and a f1a?

Fueling won’t be an issue so I’d say 900-1000. You’ll need a built shortblock though if you’re a lt1 car.

Its a 18 z06. Im thinking of going this route and not doing a cam. All i really want is 800whp range for now so i can stay with the stock driveline and have room to grow later on.

The SPI kit will easily support 800rwhp on stock cam. Your oem valvetrain (mainly the cam phaser) would be the next limiting factors assuming it is a full bolt-on car before adding the Procharger.

I would recommend doing an F1A-94, or even an F1-X if you are wanting a supercharger to grow into past the 800-900rwhp range.
