Hello all,

Question about getting a A&A, ECS, basically a centri for a Grand Sport. If i install a cam in the car, do i still need meth injection on the car or will the extra fuel from the cam do the trick. Kinna wanna stay away from meth if i can. FYI, i would keep the car around 620 or so HP.

Meth isn’t necessarily required when you have a centri and if you install a cam. But meth injection certainly helps very much. Helps flow and get more fuel and will get you a pretty good chunck if power!! And I saw vengeance racing instead of installing a tank in your trunk they used your windshield wiper fluid box for your meth tank. It was a good ideas because they keep the sensors in there so the car will tell you when your low in meth because it will say the wiper fluid is low. Hope this helped!

Both answers were a help thanks. Just wanting to not have to mess with meth. Run low timing on pump and run E85 when I wanna push it.

At the power you are looking for I think you can do it without meth, cam should do it, but if you want to keep make sure it will work add the zo6 stuff on top of the cam,

I didn’t experience this before but it shouldn’t be a problem to run it with out meth and add the cam
Good luck

What gas are you running this on at the moment? Are you using pump gas or e85?

if you got the money and are putting a CAM in you definitely should .. IMO.. port heads, get some VR drop in pistons and possibly rods. I did not do the rods myself sadly and im kicking myself for it.

Just in case you ever wanna turn it up... No reason to rip the whole engine apart for a cam only when you can probably get that horsepower without a cam.

For 620rwhp on 93 fuel you will not need the methanol injection, but anything more than that you really need to consider either it or a LT4 HPFP/injectors and low-side upgrade. We just recently finished a C7 A8 car with a cam kit/headers/ECS 1500 with just the fuel lobe making 630rwhp on our dyno and no pressure issues what so ever.

Well what sux is we only have 91 pump around here. I have plenty of E85, David, what's your guess on power I mentioned above. With a decent size cam and 2" headers?

You should still make close to your goal (depending on dyno/conditions/tune). It doesn't take a lot of boost to make that kind of power, so not a huge deal being on 91.

We've seen that power on the stock fuel system with just the fuel lobe, but that's about as much as you'll see out of it.
