Default No more Trans/Diff Issues... How many are there now?

I've been seeing quite a few very fast 8L90 cars lately, so a few shops are figuring out how to get them to live with crazy hp. I broke down after several trans and diffs. How many glide swap c7's are there now? I know Justin (Stangklr), LMR has several, CPR possibly, and AMP. Anyone on here have a c7 glide? Curious on how they're liking it?

i truly don't think it's a figure them out thing at the high hp it's a hey i got lucky. Sort of why does an alternator on one car live for 200k but dies in 10k on another. Plus when making big power all those shifts are actually slowing you down as that's time you're not accelerating.

Glide ftw!!!!!

Default A8 lifespan

Well I dont care how good a tuner you are or if you have for some reason a freakishly good A8, it will not live long at the higher hp levels. I define that level as being 1200 RWHP and higher. The clutches will give out usually after 12-15 1/4 mile passes. I have seen them live quite a while at the 1000 rwhp level with good tuning. If you are not dead hooking on a sticky track surface then they will last a little longer also. One of the first signs of an impending failure is when the tranny blows past a gear change or when it sounds like it is hunting up and down for the proper gear. Higher RPM gear changes also put additional stress on the tranny. Programmed gear shifts at 7400-7600 for instance are much harder on tranny than say at 6800 RPM.

I probably will mostly myself. I'm sure I'll use some help from the guys at CBI Street Cars too.

Call LMR, they have a few that might be willing to part with.
