C7 corvette, what do you think?

Its time for a new look! This thing of getting by using systems and parts from older models is getting old. Really was there that much change other than the headlight between the C5 and the C6. The C7 looks to much like the last two platforms. Give me a break! GM needs to come up with a new design.

I am quite sure whatever it is, it isn't going to be a straight up rip off of Lamborghini like this photochop.
I was thinking about what I'd like to see in the C7, and one thing I came up with is they need to get rid of the hatchback on coupes. They have been doing that since '78, and it is a little long in the tooth from a design standpoint imo.

Ok.. call me old school .. I'd like to see the mount points of the wheels moved in a few inches so we can have our 'deep dish' look back.
ie:
-photoshopped- just to show the idea, no great stab at it, but I miss the 'look' of the deep dish rims ..and more in the back than in the front.
It just projects a more muscular look ..makes the tires look wider, the car just a bit meaner
I'm just not a fan of the 'put the lug nuts so far out they will hit the curb first' look.

I think I understand how they came up with the C7 concept. They used the same guys who decided to mold a Viper body onto a C5. Then they decided to use this car (called the C6), but substitute the Corvette design elements with that from a Lambo. Thus, the Viperghini.
I guess you could say it looks kind of like an Audi-designed Ford GT. Wait, Chevrolet copy Ford???
Yea, I'll just leave it with Viperghini. Maybe they'll make it an all wheel drive mid engined 8.0L V10!

Actually this is the plan from what I've read. With the new fuel economy issues the Solstice - Sky platform is rumored to be the basis for the C7, possibly a modified mid-engine design.
My neighbor has a yellow Sky and it looks like a vette in training! Not a bad looking car IMO
