I just can't get behind this concept 'vette. The front is too angular for my taste. The rear has unnecessary "humps" over the tail lights. And while the sides of the C3, C4 and C5 have strong, straight character lines, this concept appears confused about how to define the sides of the car. I don't mind the looks of the C6. But I struggle with this C7 concept Corvette.

Default I can't speak for everyone, but to me, the C7 is amazing

Holy Cow... taking a look at the C7... its absolutely amazing to me. Interestingly, it looks to me like they took the low wide profile of the C5 and exported it to the C6...

I really think GM's designers must be reading this forum. The front is Tigershark like and the back has the C5 "butt-lift" mod with the C6 top rear profile.

It doesn't seem like it's changing much more than the C6 did from the C5.

Indeed. Infact that whole bit about the SS has me doubting any credibility of this. First, they have already said that the current super vette (ZR1) will be a very limited run. If they did decide to keep it in the line up, Im sure it would be under the ZR1 badge and not thee goofy SS. Also, they mention the supercharged LS9 making either 750 or 850HP. I think they would have a hard time squeezing another 130-230HP out of that thing!

Oh yeah, the front looks like a lotus, and the back looks like an anemic C6

Some really nice (muscle car inspired) designs out there ... That yellow C7 Corvette however is definitely not one of them!!

This thread (and the GMI one it links to) were from over a year ago when it was not yet known that it would be called ZR1. That also explains the HP discrepancies, since very big numbers were rumored early on. Either way this was just a GMI staff members "Dream lineup" so I'm not sure the article ever had credibility in the first place, it was just that guy saying what he would like to see.

I like every single concept shown on the linked website. Great looking cars, one and all. Somebody at Chevy is plugged in.

The C7 Vette concept from the 3/4 rear view is stunning; I might tone down the front a little bit by making the headlights behind the headlight lens smaller (the big oval projector beam looks too big to me), but overall I like it--especially from the 3/4 rear shot.

I might suggest a 500-plus HP E-Flex drivetrain would be a nice option; it wouldn't sound like a Corvette, more than likely, but max torque at idle and 4WD means the electric motors would get this baby up and moving in a hurry.

I like car with a smiley face at front end. why we don't see a smiley face on a Ferrari or Lamborghini, It's cornball.

Looks more like a ZETA based Chevelle concept to me.

Oops, pardon my inability to scroll through the entire article. I have seen that rendering before and if the C7 looks like that, sign me up for the 600hp Z06!

But for any other car a 5-year lifespan is normal. The C5 was only supposed to last from 97 until 2003 originally but post-9/11 GM decided it was the strongest product and therefore could handle having its development pushed back in order to save money and push forward other projects (Epsilon and the GMT900).

My guess? It will be based on the Z06s aluminum chassis, not a fresh sheet one.

I find it strange new info is coming out about the C7 when GM put a complete hault to it several months ago due to the financial crunch...

That C7 Corvette looks pretty similar to the C6 with just a little added curves so calling it a new generation might be a slight leap but I still would love to see it produced. I love the added horsepower. The Chevelle also looks great and hope Chevy makes it too. Its hard to say what the future of GM will be but I am optimistic that they will survive this financial crisis but they may have a better future if they produce these cars because it will give cars people will want to try out.
