Sticky Guidelines
Thanks to those who offered their input.
Here's the final. Read it over and let me know if this is what you all wanted:
Sticky Thread Guidelines For General Sections:
Historically, sticky threads were permitted for a period of 7 days. In 2003, the Corvette Forum adopted St. Jude Children's Research Hospital as its primary fund-raising event, and this thread was permitted to remain a sticky for the duration of the event.
For additional clarification, general sticky threads shall fall under the 7 days rule. Any deviation from this time period will need to be approved by a Moderator.
Some examples for longer periods are as follows:
1) Software upgrade info
2) CI event info/pictures
3) Sporting events (World Series, Super Bowl, etc.)
4) Frequently asked questions for the various generations of Vettes
Sticky Thread Guidelines For Regional Sections:
A request for a “sticky thread” to promote your event may be made up to 60 days in advance. It may become a sticky thread for 5 days for initial exposure concerning the event. After 5 days, the thread will be unstuck, but, may be “bumped” by the thread originator once per day to remain current on page one, if no other members have replied.
The thread can be stuck again in accordance with the rules below.
Charity events: 30 days prior to the event
Events in support our troops: 30 days prior to the event
Multi-state event: 30 days prior to the event
Car show or cruise in: 10 days, unless the above exceptions apply in which case, it will be 30 days.
Exempted from the 30 day rule:
State Event threads which list events state wide and are broken down by month with events listed accordingly. These threads are to be edited as necessary to remain current by the thread creator.
The above is not to discourage the posting of event threads, but rather to generate interest, and to keep sticky requests consistent.
If you have any questions, please feel free to PM the section Moderator for clarification.
