C7 Whats Going On?
Has GM taken it off of hold yet? Is it going ahead as 2012 model? It seems since the new CAFE demands came out C7 news has gone silent? Lets face it the 2009s will be coming down the line in just 3 weeks. That makes only 2 more years for C6 and we have not even seen one spy photo of a C7 test mule yet. Makes me wonder.

4 more years of the c6....09 10 11 12.. they have some time to make it
you can get yours in fall of 2012
i love this concept, it shows gm is making the car more aggresive. i love the new front head lights too, they are very small giving it a retro look like a stingray with hidden headlights. the name of the vette in the transformers movie is stinger.

the transfrmr movie will come out next summer 2009 by then the 2010 vettes will be coming out. then just 3 yrs for gm to develop, test and market the car and in fall of 2012 you can be in your new c7.
i think they need time to get the c7 just right, gm cant afford to screw it up. ive seen pictures of the new camaro 3-4 yrs ago.

The photo in the picture looks like the Retro Vette that Gohard was talking about a year ago. 'They' are not making this happen yet and might not at all. The C-7 is still on hold. PM MAJZ06 if you would like to know how I know this stuff, I'm not trying to give false info about anything, don't give a d*m about glory that I've been accused of looking for, I got into a lot of trouble for trying to talk to my Vette Brothers and tried to learn my 'Lesson" ..............

Don't know anything about a Z07. GM was supposed to call the ZR1 an SS or a Z08 not a Z07. And if you want a ZR1, you will probably have to order a Z08 option, wait and see. The picture looks like the Vette that was made a couple of years ago, I just got back from the GM Heritage Museum and will try to post some pictures from there....
Concept Vettes, you will then see what GM does for fun..........

After reviewing the historical record on the timelines between generations, and the design process, I've made a couple guesses.
The basic layout and overall design of the C7 is nearly done. Maybe details are still being hashed out, but the basic look is set. Choices still yet to be made may involve some powertrain and interior stuff. The size, shape, design and plan for the car's image should be done. More development of interior, trim, colors, options remain.
What I'm suggesting is that, right now, if you could look at what they have, you'ld be seeing something VERY close to the final product. I'd like to know where they are as far as the drivetrain, as that is probably getting lots of extra attention, and they are still developing it.
Anything we've seen so far is unlikely to look anything like an approved design.
Sure wish I could be in on the process.

It would not surprise me if the frame/chassis did not change much. Perhaps they will use the aluminum frame in all models to lower weight and increase mileage. Maybe even CF fenders and hood, and titanium exhaust. Maybe a move to Direct Injection, which would bring a small increase in power, maybe to 450-475 hp. Of course this would make the standard model weigh less than the Z06 so maybe the Z06 would get DI as well and move to 550hp.
They may need to change the hoodline or front end hard points to comply with EU pedestrian safety regulations.
