GM has the C7 on hold, so as I see it, you should let your opinions be heard, they Do listen to the Forum members, I should know, I got into some serious trouble talking about the ZR1 when we were building that car. I was known as Gohard777 back then and then, GM made me the Limp1 . I better not say more but that GM was merely trying to protect things that they thought I was exposing..........

You should be more concerned with the engineers. Designers want the best, coolest thing possible, problem is some of the imagination is lost in translation from concept to production.
You can tell from the Camaro concept to production that the designers had more control.

I want a seatback and a steering column with continuous adjustment. With the present setup, the right position always seems to be BETWEEN the notches. Plus the seatback adjustment is chintzy.
The rest of the C6 package is pretty damn great, and GM just needs to make sure they don't take anything away. Delaying C7 is a smart move -- wait until the culture's present Slash Everything mood has passed. Let technology improve the breed; don't let overreaction to change kill it.

The bean counters have FINAL say. Nothing is approved without going past them. GM has a price point goal on every vehicle, at inception. The ZR1 I believe was just under $100k. If the seatback and steering column is cheap to make in it's present version, something else would have to suffer to upgrade. It's all a big money game they play. It's the way it is and will not change soon. Engineers and designers HATE bean counters, but without them, brilliant engineers and designers would be cut loose and Corvettes would be $250k. Welcome to Detroit....

But thank you Captain Obvious for the lesson on How It Is In Detroit and the folly that is the Voice of the Customer. Consider me educated.

If they listen so hard, how come they were so far behind Toyota and Honda with fuel efficient cars.

Is GM actually behind in CAFE? I don't think so.
