You must live your life in a shell! Do you remember what Forest Gump use to say about STUPID??? I use to sell cars for a year-something I always wanted to try out and you know what? vvv90 is about as accurate as it gets, with only a few exceptions. DON'T EVER BELIEVE A SALESMAN AND WHAT HE TELLS YOU ABOUT CORVETTES (or most any car for that matter); the only ones who might know anything and they NEVER TELL is the General Sales Manager for New and Pre-Owned Vehicles.
From what I've read and see, my guess would be somewhere between 2012 and 2015/closer to 2015 for a totally new Corvette.
Only time will tell...

So believe what you want to.
couldn't be more true. When I was at the dealer a few months ago buying a cobalt I overheard a salesman talking to a potential customer about the new Zr1. The customer asked how much power the car had and the salesman said 540hp. I thought to myself what an idiot it has been certified at 638 already. I haven't met a salesman yet that knew more about about the car they were trying to sell me than I knew about it already.

The same exact thing was said about the C6 Z06..."No way it will be 500HP, 450 is about it."

Same thing was said about the ZR1...."it won't be 600HP, the Viper doesn't even have that."

So far all the Naysayers have only been members for a couple years. Trust me guys, this speculation is nothing new. I have no doubt that a C7 Z06 will have 600HP.

Oh wait a second....Why the heck is this about the 2010 Z06 there's no C7 coming out in 2010, let alone a C7 Z06 is there?

So are we speculating on the 2010 C6 Z06 then? From what I understand is that the C7 will be a 2011.
Depends on the viability of GM. If they go into bankrutsy then they may leave the car exactly the way it is.

Quote from another forum

"This is an interesting question from this point of view. International FIA GT rules change next year to basically a 5.5 liter engine cap in GT. You can be above that but you won't be competitive. Obviously even the base Vette is 6.2 and the Aston Martins are 6.0....something will have to change. The 7.0 limit with [restricters as needed], was a big reason why the ZO6/C6R went to that displacement. I'm sure something will come from this that will effect the street car. Chevy is tired of racing themselves in ALMS which follows FIA GT rules, but they still want to be at LeMans which also follows FIA rules for the GT classes. By moving to a prototype class they could still run the LS7 and be competitive but it would take years to get at the Audi level.
Very interesting indeed. BTW the LS9 engine in the ZR1 would be available in a prototype too because it easily meets homologation numbers. To use it in GT it would have to be destroked to 5.5 liters. Can you imagine the power Katech would get from a LS9 with no restricters !!!! FIA would never let that happen."

Default Yes The Corvette Z06 will be soon out

Yes The Corvette Z06 will be soon out. First batch of 2010 orders have went through the system and now await production. The Chevrolet Corvette Z06 is the range-topping performance model in the Corvette lineup and is widely regarded as one of the best performance bargains on the planet. Although the Z06 has a price tag north of $70,000, it offers the kind of performance normally reserved for cars costing twice as much.

Who knew we'd be in such a different place since this thread started.

If, and that's a big if, the Z06 gets 600, they will just need to change the pulley on the ZR1.

I am betting on a 2012 C7. I always wait until year 2 on a new model, so it would be 2013 before I would be in. But.... my crystal ball is usually cloudy.

I think they will play the ZR1 for another year or 2 and maybe pump up the Z06 to 525-550 before we see the C7.

C6 last through the 2013, chevy badging those as 60 yr anniversary editions to move out the last of the C6's. Then the new C7 comes out as a 2014 model with 450hp DI smaller displacement v8.
