Wait for C7 or buy C6 GS???
Wanting some opinions....
A C7 with a split rear window and a V8 would be my dream. However, I don't want to wait if these 2 items can't or aren't going to be met. Should I wait for the C7 or buy the Grand Sport and call it good?

Tough to answer considering we don't know when the C7 is going to be built, what it's going to look like, the technical specifications, or anything about your specific situation. But if you have enough money, why not buy the GS now and then trade up once the C7 becomes available?

I was actually stuck in this dilemma. My solution was to get a Grand Sport in 2010. That leaves me a about 3 years of ownership before the next model (2010,2011,2012). At that point I could give the C7 a couple years to mature and maybe the release of a Z06 version. That's a good amount of time to enjoy the Grand Sport and then make a decision.

It's all about live for today and future will fall in place.... What if the C7 comes out and you hate it??? Then you just wasted a lot of time, therefore get your GS now and enjoy life!!

DaytonaFICZ - my sentiments exactly - matter of fact, that's what I did, bought a used '08Z and I love it. Might be tough to give it up for a new 2013 when the C7 comes out. We'll see.
To those hoping for it, I don't expect a "split-window" for the C7. It really wasn't a good idea in '63 (yeah, I was there) and it won't be a good idea in 2013. Could happen, but I'd be very surprised.

For all the pleasure I get owning a restored 63 split seeing little behind me as I cruise each summer isnt something thats fun. Looking at the classic is more fun than driving it. Heck we will have a frame off 54 we are restoring ready for the road this summer. I've been told that will be a rough ride(can't wait). Buy a c6 with a few miles on it and enjoy yourself. Life is to short. I have an 09 z51 I recently bought with low miles on it. Saved 22,000 off new sticker . Now thats a dream ride for a decent price!

Easy. Buy now. No guarantees on anything with the C7 right now. Anyone tells you they know what year it is definitely hitting the market is FOS. And I never buy 1st year of a new model. Look no further than the 2006 C6's growing pains.

That's my line of thinking. It will be about 4-5 years before the C7 will be out long enough to get past the growing pains and dealer markup. I would expect the C7 to be released in 2012 at the earliest.

I feel for my local 08 and 09 owner friends who felt great buying new 3lt z51s at a discount only to now be down 20 plus while I lucked out and waited while I was early on in the 54 vet resto. Even my stuffed 3lt is worth less now than I paid only 5mths ago. Get smart. It's a almost new buyers market. Let someone else take a bath.

and there are no guarantees that if the first model is released in '12 that they'll get it right. Waiting 4-5 after the initial launch sounds like a solid way to go
