Did GM just unveil the best sports car ever?
I am seeing very positive reports in the press. The headline above was cut from MSN "Money".
This type of press is exactly what Corvette needs to grow.

it is very likely they have if the improvements and technology is as they stated and not hype.
there are a lot of folks here on the forum that dont like it.. for various reasons.. but thats normal reactions for any brand loyal fan... I was an F body person since 1967 with the exception of our 78 Vette... I can remember when the 98 F body premiered... much bolder lines than the 94-97 and most of the current owners did not like it.. yet it took while but it took off...
It going to take a while, its going to take folks seeing it in person and driving it..both on the public streets, and the of course, the track... thats going to tell all...its got a lot of fancy do dads for sure.. some of it aimed at drivers that dont have the knowledge how to really put a sports car through the paces, but this car is supposed to make those folks a driver...... we'll see.

2021 C6 of the Year Finalist - Unmodified
The C7 probably drives and handles like no car before it, but I'm still not sold completely on the new styling. The C5 struck me that way with it's rear end, which never grew on me, and I'm sure the C7 won't. But that doesn't mean it's not a great car. Just my 2 cents.

It will grow on people just like every edition does especially after you see them driving around. However, what I'm interested in as how much they'll cost. With all this new technology, 200 lbs less weight, will the price push it even further out of any chance that a younger demographic can afford one? Not the least can an old fart like me ?

Everything is still speculation until the car press gets a hold of some production vehicles and starts to test them.
I'd expect the early reviews to all be very positive, but that's not what worries me. I have mixed feelings about the styling, but I really want to see how this car does when it's in the hands of the first new owners.
If we start seeing a rash of early issues, I'm going to be really skeptical about GM's ability to get it right. Like the C7 or not, they've done a heck of a job getting the whole world looking again. I just hope the build quality and reliability match the hype.

I guess that I am amoung the few that really like the looks of the new C7. That said, I'm still in love with my C6 and probably won't ever have the money to purchase another Corvette.
The changes are radical and in my opinion necessary to draw the younger generation buyers in this market. We will all adjust to the new looks and hopefully GM will attract young and old buyers to continue a great American sports car tradition.

Time will tell, not a bad start.

We just have to see if it has the same harmonic balancer as the C6 for example. If it does then GM doesn't give a crap.
I have to look at one in person to judge its looks. In the video it looks like a lot of different cars while the Corvette thru the C6 generation looked like...well...a Corvette. This one has some 370Z rear end window, GTR roof/scoops, Camaro tail lights, some Ferrari here and there.
I might still end up loving it, might end up hating it also. All depends on what I see in person, the actual price, if GM actually fixed problems such as harmonic balancers and sweating oil pans. For around $70-80k for a decent option one the C7 better be worth that much money in value.
