C5 and C6 Spy Photo History

Of course, all the spy photos aren't taken on the road:
Above - This picture was first seen on the internet Nov 12, 2003 but was said to have been taken July 23, 2003.
Above - This was where we first saw the entire body shape without camo, and got a hint of a high performance model to come with rear fender flares. For some reason, the person who took these pictures didn't give us a name.
So keep looking, and not just on the road; that prototype boat company back in an industrial park might have some other plastic secrets......

More spy photo history, the first camo 2006 Z06 photos were published on June 20, 2004:
We got all excited about the fender flares and what was hiding under the front fender side panels.

ok so since we now have seen the C7 spy pics almost a year before its introduction, All I can say other than the camaro rear, it looks better than the C5 and C6 spy pics.
To bad it wont have a clamshell hood like the transformers car.
I really hope it will eventually get round tail lights.

Don't forget about the photoshop of the C6 by Jujubee in February of 2003. That picture was banned from the forum because GM threatened to take legal action. I can not seem to find that photoshop.

Isn't the internet an amazing thing? As tension mounts before the C8 release, and the C7 is old news, we'll all come back here for the memories and some good laughs.

Don't believe that we have seen the actual body that will be used. I also don't believe we ever see a "spy" photo that GM didn't intend us to see. We are always being played...if the marketing guys are really doing their jobs! I'm betting the final will look so different (vs the jalopnik, etc.) image, that we will crap our jammies when we see it.

Here is what they thought the C6Z was going to look like before it was released. This was posted on the forum shortly after the 2005 C6 was released.
Notice the hard top carry over from the C5 hardtop.

Before anyone claims I am jealous or just want to rationalize my current car, I want to state I plan to sell my current C6 & plan to never buy another car in the USA/sports car so if the C7 looks ugly or great, it does not effect me personally.
The bottom line is they could do so much more with the body style of the C7 then what I have seen of the spy photos. A lost opportunity if it is what the renderings indicate.

Extending to the C7 renderings, it would be no surprise to me if the overall lines are VERY close to the final product, again with the details being wrong, and much fussier/uglier than the final C7.
Or is that just wishful thinking on my part?

Interesting take, Ox. I'd argue a bit differently and say it was VERY close, but the details were different. And, I suspect, much inferior to the final product in most people's eyes.
