The problem with the rendering is that it appears to be a compilation of cars. The rendering takes the styling from several different manufacturers thrown together and they do not exactly bend.

The rendering from the side looks as if the front windshield is too tall. Looking at the roof and the spoiler the car appears to be too square. The rear looks like a combo of the GTR & Camaro.

If you consider that the Corvette is very strongly influenced by GT Racing the rendering as shown would need to be finessed in a way so that the sharp lines would bend into a more aerodynamic appearance.

It is very possible that some of the design elements of the C7 are present in the rendering but I highly doubt that these guys nailed it.

In any event GM dis-information has created a "BUZZ" about the C7 which I imagine is exactly what they wanted to accomplish (get it started early and keep it going).

Well my wife (26) and I (27) both love the rendering and hope the C7 looks very similar.

That wouldn't be enough of a change from the C6 to call it a C7. It's essentially a C6 with a new front bumper on it.

I agree, everyone I have talked to around my age really likes the renderings, I guess GM was correct in stating they were going for a younger crowd. I find it hilarious how much some of the current owners hate the renderings. Also I would just like to state that the C5 is a hideous car, it looks like the bastard child of a C4 and a C6 that no one wanted.

Thats a stupid statement...the C6 design is basically an improved, tightened up C5 with a few harder edges and a bit less mass.

I'm guessing the people you have talked to who like these renderings are 370Z and GTR fanboys.

As a c5 owner I love the lines of the c5 and think the rendering is sexy. Much more europeaning in style, which the rumor mill has been throwing about.

I do have to agree with z edge...that has to be the most ridiculous statement I have ever heard in the Corvette world. How about basic common sense & math here? Hellooooooo you can't get a C5 from a C4 & C6 unless you went back in time?

When I first saw the C6 from a side view...I honestly at first didn't even notice anything majorly done vs the C5. It did in fact just look like they shrunk the C5 and tightened up the lines. All you C6 lovers can thank the C5 boys for having a car. If it wasn't for the C5 you wouldn't have what your driving right now. Iam sure in time once the C7 hits...those guys will be picking on all you C6'ers out there just the same as the C6 crowd picks on the C5 guys. It is a viscous cycle haha

Default hmmm

had a little time...

Could this be the evolution cycle?
hmmm possible yes...but personally I would hope that even more styling would be done. Especially the front of the car. GM seems to always focus on this part for every year corvette there has been. The front of the "proposed C7" to me just looks too much like the C6. I think that more then anything will change. Say goodbye to the "smile" of the C6.

My favorite part about the concept car was the rear-the idea of having big haunches rather than a slab, the idea of having the quad exhaust nestled inside the bumper (I might even go for a big mono-exhaust, or a triple to mix things up from previous models) were all great. Even the idea of the split rear window, which horrified so many people, could easily be workable if the split was narrow enough (many supercars have no rear visibility at all), and it brought back some of the vibe of the C2. Interestingly, I think the front of the Jalopnik car is the best part of it. The sides are mediocre, and it all falls apart when it gets to that train-wreck tail end. When has cribbing design cues from a lower-end model of the same car ever been a good idea? I wonder if Ford is going to make their next GT500 resemble a Focus.

In my mind; if Corvette deny the claim; then it the "real deal" design and look!

Whether the drawings are close or not, Chevy's worry now is that C6 sales will drop even further as buyers get excited about the C7. The closer the C7 introduction appears to be, the bigger the problem.

GM still has Corvette's 60th anniversary to pimp some high-profit cars.

A special graphics package that you can choose to apply or store, a technically-unique metallic red, fender badges, headrest embroidery, wheels, maybe a different caliper color for base/GS cars.

Of course, they've kind of used up their "special" already with LT4, GrandSport, LeMans, Fellows, Z07, and Chevy Centennial, so I doubt the Corvette Anniversary will get much "gotta have it" except maybe from late buyers who see actual photos of C7 and dislike it -- and don't kid yourself, for all the venom spewed here in the last couple of days, that won't amount to a lot of actual sales.

It looks like they're going to miss the 50th anniversary of the 63 Sting Ray introduction in 2013.

You, sir, are geographically retarded; I just really wanted to make sure you were aware of that.

Thanks for the hot tip. I think you missed the point however. Not here debating on what countries are European or their geographic location...Iam sure we are all very well aware of that. Hence why I put the "etc" in the end of the list. The point was of styling. Only GM knows what they consider to be European and how that will influence the new Corvette.
