Default C6 3LZ-Are we getting there?

I've been looking at pictures of the C6 3LZ package on a Z06. It looks nice. Really nice, actually. Anybody have this package on their C6? How does it feel inside? Is this interior of sufficient quality for the C7, or do they have farther to go?

Mostly leather wrapping. No big deal. People complain the most about Corvette seats. GM better spend most of their money on seats...

I don't have the leather wrap package (3LZ, 4LT, etc.), but have bought a few of the factory pieces for my 2LT coupe. It is definitely a step in the right direction, but the quality of the leather isn't all that great -- at least in my opinion.

Having owned an E90 M3, I think my factory '08 2-tone red/black interior is pretty nice. I do have a Ds Vettes steering wheel and leather console lid, 4LT leather door pulls, a set of Lloyd's mats and the factory carbon console trim. Overall, it's not a bad place to be.

I'd really like the leather dash, though. I'm digging the Centenial Edition cars with the suede/alcantara and red stitching. Just needs some Recaro style sport seats!

Im fine with my c5 interior. Its comfy and soft, but i dont go to far when i give it some gas. So im sure the c6 interior is fine for me.

I have sat in a 3LZ Z06 from a dealer at a car show they sponsored. While it is most definitely a step in the right direction, it is not good enough. Now that GM has released vehicles such as the CTS, SRX, Lacrosse, Regal, and even the Verano, they have proven that they know how to build an interior. The interior shots of the ATS look even better than the products I have already mentioned, especially with the CUE, which I have a feeling will find it's way into the C7, despite current reports. GM knows how to build a good interior, let's just hope that they do in the C7.

I own a 2009 3LZ-equiped Z06. Personally, it was the minimum interior quality I was willing to get. I couldn't bring myself to go with the 1LZ or 2LZ (too plastic-y for my taste). I would have sprung the extra cash for more supportive and/or better leather seats if given the option, provided the option would have been less than $5k extra.

You can almost guarantee they learned their lesson about the interior we have been griping to them about for years now. I think in the C7 we will see such a radical change that will raise some eyebrows this time around. I think they know the sales will increase just with better Interior alone. The performance and power are already there.
I can't wait.

That you can get a Caddy CTS with Recaros and not get them in a Corvette is just NUTS.

Dont forget that you can get Recaros in the Camaro, lol. It is also a problem with the new Camaro ZL1 having 580hp and probably priced at $55k or so. LSA motor, magnetic ride control, adjustable suspension, etc. Other than being heavy at 3900lbs, it has better specs than all Corvettes but the ZR1.

If the Jalopnik C7 hits the showroom, GM is in trouble. I think Ill buy a CTS-V Wagon instead. A 190 mph station wagon is very creative and the car looks slick.

Staple (yes, literally staple) and glue thin sheets of leather over your existing interior panels and there you go.

The C6Z is 317 hp/ton, while the Camaro is 297. GM talks a big game about that camaro, and no doubt it probably will draw some vette owners away (the same way the Cayman S bit into the low-end 911 market pretty solidly; I'd way rather have a loaded Cayman than a low-middle of the road 911 Carrera), but the C6Z is still top dog, and I bet the C7 Z will be more of the same.

How is this done though? Because you do know that this is pretty much furnature industry standard for upholstering a hard surface, like wood.

Well, I guess to some, it is a numbers game, and in that case, I am looking at MY numbers. I bought a loaded '10 CRM 3lZ Z new at a dealership last August for $63k. Car has a few minor mods - Halltech Intake system including Hive, 160 Tstat, manual fan controller, DRM modded Bilsteins and dynos out repeatedly at race shop's continually checked and calibrated dynojet at right around 474-475 rear wheel h/p. Realistically, that is about 530 at the crank. Car was also weighed in the shop (who uses precise weight measuring, not a truck scale) and weighs 3157 wiht quarter tank of fuel.

Also, better by that wagon fast - Caddy is discontinuing them due to very poor sales.

So for slightly more coin, I have a 750 lb lighter vette with 50 h/p less than the ZL1. I think I will stick with my Z!

I was in a Carbon Edition Z06 recently and I thought the interior in that was terrific! The suede wrapping gave it a more luxurious feel.

My 09 Z06 has the 3LZ interior but since its a GT1 Z06, its even a bit more fancy. I love it. I also have an 09 GT1 coupe, 4LT level interior bu again since its a GT1, the interior is a bit more fancy yet.

My 09 convertible was a 3LT but the dash seemed cheap to me and i sold that car. Is the extra trim level worth the cost? Thats an individual decision but its worth it in my opinion.
