2012 ZO6 verses the 2013 GT-R
BMWDAD,
Thanks for sharing this info with us. Very interesting comparison.
It is nice to know that the VETTE looks better, sounds better and actually outperformed the GT-R on the track. However, in an actual race, the GT-R would most likely prove to be quicker due to the ease and ability to drive it quicker. Oh well, I am not racing my Vette, and I prefer to shift my own gears and hear the whale of the big V8. I am shocked to see the sticker price of this Z06. I didn't pay anywhere close to that amount for my Z. I was glad to read that the seats were preferred in the Vette as opposed to the GT-R. That is good news to read. Thanks again for the post.

I am so looking forward to the C7. GM is on a tear with Caddy, Camaro, and the Vette.
I am looking to say goodbye to BMW and join you guys.
Not much longer to go.

couldnt afford it but there's a local guy here who has a shop just finished an 'alpha 10' mod to a GTR, got 838 on pump and 957 on c16.
is running an upgraded suspension, trans, built motor, bigger turbos, tuned and so forth..
hard to believe the above figures, but even adjusted downward a bit that is insane on that 'little' v6.
and me, if i could afford a car like that and it sounded like a vacuum cleaner i could live with it.
alas i can afford neither.

Never though I'd see the day when the tables are turned: the import car is champ down the drag strip, and the Chevy is quicker in the corners. Boy are we a long way from the 70s
I am so sick and tired of these magazine morons going on about the tires...barely legal...racing slicks...cheating. But when Porsche (GT3), Ferrari (F430), and and Lambo (Gallardo) offer Pirelli Corsa or MPSC options on their cars, that is OK. Same in fact for the GTR, which rolls un ultra-sticky custom Dunlops. Guess they are not used to seeing what the Corvette chassis can really do when it's not hampered by a substandard tire.
