Which part of C7 will be revolutionary?
Looking at the recent Spy pics, the body design doesn't seem to be revolutionary or brand new design. It doesn't look like a Mid engine. I doubt the interior would be totally different than C5/C6.
So what do you think would be totally new?
A new designed engine than LS3/LS7?
Or a New Transmission (M7)?

The 5.5L motor will have a commensurate lowering of TQ and tha means the tranny can use smaller components--does not have to, but could. I am hopping for a 7 speed.
Given tha the engine will remain in front, the suspension will remain double a-arms at all 4 corners, and that the car remains front engined, rear drive, and that the body remains composit material; There is not a whole lot of room to go between generations.

So far I'm thinking along the same line. Same body, same suspension, same front engine rear drive. The only thing that excites me, if they put a revolutionary engine in it. Otherwise, the outgoing C6 might end up being a great bargain.

Revolutionary?
Based on what we believe it to look like I would say the MARKETING effort better be revolutionary if they want to sell 25K units a year.

Nothing about the C7 is really supposed to be revolutionary. It is meant to be an evolutionary step from the C6. The most revolutionary thing will be the 7 speed manual (second sports car to have one) and the new engine.

A revolutionary vette was the transition from the C4 to the C5. I'm still hoping this happens in the transition ot the C7, but it's looking more and more like that's not the case this time.

And while a DCT/SMG/F1 style manumatic transmission (if they even introduce one) isn't quite revolutionary, I believe that if GM/Chevrolet/the Corvette Team can perfect it even further (ie: work out the 'jerkiness' or 'abruptness' and even the high costs often associated with those transmissions) they could revolutionize that sort of thing for use in future mass production platforms (trucks, Camaros etc.).

what about that new development of a cheaper to produce carbon fiber, does anyone remember that article about that company that found a new way of producing carbon fiber components and GM invested with them for their future cars.
By the way what I wrote reads back perfect to me, but I'm drunk right now

Hopefully the car will have stock coil-overs to go with its upper and lower A-arms and ditch the leafy springs. It should have the carbon brakes as an option on all of the models, and it should have AWD on the higher HP optioned cars. That is enough--mid engine is not needed; just move the front engine a bit farther rearward but leave it up front....

What will be revolutionary in the C7:
- Factory roll bars in convertibles
- Aluminum frames in all Corvette models
- Corporate partnership with K-Y to have "sexual enhancers" included
- Magnetic Selective Ride Control in all Corvette TIRES!
- Rheostatically controlled tinted windows
- Laser beam headlights to deal with idiot drivers
