I really can't think of the last time I saw a concept car that was honestly that gaudy, over vented, over styled, and simply that quack. If that car had debuted in April, I'd have bet money it was an April Fools joke.

That is one Corvette I would not save the wave for.

At first I wasn't sure I liked the stingray concept but after I saw it in person back in 2009 at the Seattle Auto show I thought it was easily one of the most amazing cars I've ever seen.

If the concept makes it to production (even as the c8) it I'd have to have one. Having said that based on the spy shoots it doesn't look like they are going to go that route. I've been waiting to see the c7 since 2009. By now I'm tired of waiting so I moved to the dark side and bought a 2005 dodge viper. Still want a C5 or a c6 grand sport for daily driving though.

I love the concept car would buy it in a heartbeat. I saw the concept car at the Mackinaw Island car show and just really fell in love with it.

I like the concept but thought the back-end should not have hidden the exhaust tips in the body. I've seen some other pictures where the pipes are round rather than rectangle, to me the round tips look more traditional.

I viewed the Stingray concept at an auto show, and it definitely looks better in person. But, I also agree that the front and rear should be toned down, like these:

It would be awesome if they sell it. But hey, I'm a satisfied, fully-optioned, sparkling waxed yellow/beige C5 convertible owner!

But yeah, I'd be happy to upgrade to a Sideswipe convertible.

I'm one of the unfortunate Corvette enthusiasts who did not make it to any of the Concept roadshows. But I saw Transformers and Corvette OWNED Ferrari hands-down with the Concept. Heck, I barely noticed the Ferrari as my eyes were transfixed to the majesty of Sideswipe.

Trust me if you like it in pictures/video you would absolutely fell in love with the car if you saw it in person.

I remember that poll where someone asked about which generation corvette had the best looks. I think that the c6 Z06 is the best looking corvette yet (no surprises there as it's the latest one) but since you couldn't specify the model/trim. I picked the base corvette I liked best the c5. I'd take a c5 over a c6 base model any day.

However the more I think about it and look into all generations body designs objectively (and considering how it was perceived in their own time) the more I realized that the C3 has the most outrageous design out of all generations. If I didn't picked it, it's because by now it looks pretty old and initially I couldn't look pass that fact. So now I'm thinking a modernized corvette with looks based on the c3 design would be the corvette that I'd have to have. I think the stingray concept was pretty darn close.

It doesn't look like the c7 is going to follow that route so I guess I'm stuck waiting and wishing for the c8. It's a good thing I have my 05 SRT10 Street Serpent viper http://forums.corvetteforum.com/othe...y-new-car.html to hold me over in the mean time.

I agree that the C6 Z06 is truly an attractive and contemporary looking car and that the C3 (especially the 1968-1972 versions) were quite radical looking as well, all things considered.
But I still might have to lean towards the C2 (1963-1967) era as the best looking Corvettes so far. Just imagine that it's 1962 and you're used to seeing the cars that were roaming the streets/highways all around you at that point and then all of sudden they spring this new thing on you! Even though the tail end of it was similar to the 1961/1962 car, it still had to be quite a shocking departure from the norm back then, almost exotic even.

I tell you one thing, forget the whole body...if that suspension is a hint of what's to come...boy, we're all in good shape!

PLEASE say good bye to the transverse leaf GM!!

I could not have said it any better. I was 18, just starting to work, and began saving to get a C2 vert. It took me until just after Christmas 1964 to walk into a Chevy dealer, still in uniform, on the day of my discharge from the US Army to realize my dream. What sold me on the '65 was it now had "airplane style gauges and was fitted with disc brakes all around. What better way to celebrate just tuning 21.

I too like the concept design. The Jalopnik rendering and the spy shots of the supposed C7, I'm thinking it looks like a warmed-over C-6 rather than something new and exciting.

I want the concept vette too. I would like that in my garage. I think I will make space for it.

I would trade my 09 Z06 for that Stingray concept car. Minus the tail light design. Hope the new C7 interior is similar though.

Default I Want It

I would buy this concept car in a heart-beat. If the C7 looked like this car, GM would take the lead for sure.
