Warren Buffett bought almost 10 million shares of General Motors stock through his company, Berkshire Hathaway, during the first quarter of this year.
I'm guessing he knows something we don't!

But ford didn't waste an opportunity. As of last night at least, the log in page was an almost complete shot of the 13' fusion and a tiny tidbit of info.
GM not being on facebook doesn't hurt them, but it helps ford, who's a little more savvy with younger people and hooking them on the looks of the focus/fiesta vs the cruz which looks like a mini impala/malibu/caprice.
But since I hate the aston marton look, I logged in extra quick lol.

It would seem that GM is still going to have some presence there, just not paid advertisements.
This move has caused General Motors to let it's fans know that it won't be “Unfriending” them anytime soon and it still “Likes” them. "Just wanted to let our millions of Facebook fans know, we're still here, and we 'like' you back!” announced GM on... its Facebook page! How else are you supposed to let all your fans know that?
General Motors is clear that it will be keeping up content for Facebook pages. It still is spending $30 million dollars on Facebook for sharing content on those pages for the four core General Motors brands Buick, GMC, Chevrolet, and Cadillac.

Corvette has its own Facebook page. It is regularly updated by GM and the Corvette team. I even post specials on there from time to time. The page has a couple hundred thousand followers.

You wouldn't be saying that GM is screwing the pooch in marketing to younger folks are you?

Actually, GM still has a big presence there, with lots of content. They just don't PAY for the advertising anymore. Sounds like a pretty smart business move to me, and is probably an early indicator of why Facebook is going to decline in the long run. Like has been said about many things in life - "Why pay for it when you can get it for free"..............

Not because of C7, my guess is the CH. 11 backruptucy, gave them the ability to renogoiate the union contracts, cut their pension obligations, squeeze suppliers, cut 2 underperforming brands (saturn, pontiac). And low and behold, didn't they just have the biggest quarterly profit in the history of the company.

I know Cadillac and GMC have Facebook pages (unless these aren't exactly 'official'?):
https://www.facebook.com/#!/cadillac
https://www.facebook.com/#!/gmc

When you log into Facebook, on the right side of your new feed, there are various advertisements, and those advertisements is where Facebook makes their money. That advertising is what GM is opting out of.
I know that there are many members who are not familiar with Facebook, so I do not mean to sound condescending if I do lol.
I would make the same move if I were them. When I am on Facebook, I rarely ever look at those advertisements. But, I do read what Chevrolet posts on their profile, as with the rest of the General Motors companies. That is more effective in my opinion.

Buffet ignored FB IPO b/c the company was valued at 122x earnings, which was asanine. I predicted it would fall in half over the first six months. Wish it was available for shorting at IPO.

Yeah, people who didn't understand how the stock market works invested into FB and got screwed. I've been dabbling in stocks for a while and I knew not to touch it. My dad asked me if he should add FB stock to his mutuals. I told him not to because it's a bad bet. I had different reasons at the time, but it all worked out. FB KNEW that they were going to screw the public on that one. There wasn't any reason for the to go public in the first place. FB's value climbed to $100Bill in less than 4 years from $16Bill. Google tried to buy them even before that. No reason at all to go public.
Warren is a smart guy. I follow some of the stuff he does. And CNBC follows him around like a puppy. I normally trust what Mad Money says, and he usually bets with Warren.
All things considering, GM is a good bet. They've come a long way since the economy crapped its pants.

Buffet and Berkshire own companies that do all sorts of things - Acme bricks, Justin cowboy boots, Burlington Northern railroad, Dairy Queen, Geico....
