If anything is actually revealed, I hope it's the rear end. That's the only aspect of Jalopnik's drawing that has me concerned.

The real truth is that GM has made a crazy decision. They are just going to call the 2014 model the "Corvette" without any generation number..........

Ditto. I won't judge it until I see it in the flesh, but I do have to say that I found the rendering of the taillights....."unappealing".

I believe this has always been true that annual allocations numbers are based on prior year sales, sometimes adjusted upward if sales are hot. I wasn't interested at the time the C6 was introduced as to how '04 C5's were inventoried in the summer of 2003, a full year earlier.

For this particular dealer though I don't think they usually offered deals this good at the beginning of a new vehicle sales cycle that is also at the height of the summer sales period. But "pump and dump" may be part of their game to stay at or near the top in annual Corvette sales and to reap getting the max C7 allocation, especially early.

And, if their deals are this great now, just wait to see what happens to prices at the end of 2012 and over those cold wintry months early 2013, especially if the economy is still iffy!

Also, I agree that the Jalopnick C7 rendering, if true, could change everything.

That'll work about as well as Mazda not calling the MX-5 a Miata.

Seems like they are pushing huge discounts before any substantial info is released on the c7, makes sense for anyone who knows beyond the shadow of a doubt that the c7 is going to be a far superior car inside and out right?
And that's been GMs goal all along, they want you to say "WOW, I have to trade up!"
Not "BLEH, I'll keep my c6!" and dealers know what's coming.

Here's a clip from the c5-c6 bash, I'm sure it was posted ad Nauseum though.

Conti is wrong to even mention it since it is just way too early to mention the C7 at all - it will affect the C6's sales negatively. Nothing until January!!

Really? You don't think that everybody on this site already knows the C7 is coming? C6 sales are down and will continue to drop because if the economy and the fact that the C7 isn't that far away.

And if the C7 looks anything close to the Jalopnik renderings C6 sales might increase.

Since it was already announced that there would be no tours at the assembly plant on June 5 and 6, I think there is a chance something might be going on at the plant in regard to the C7 on those days. Just my 2 cents worth...
