Well Nitrous, I just had an Aha! moment thanks to your information. I never thought that would be it, but you make a lot of sense, thanks...

Just goes to show how the "law of unintended consequences" can lead to strange destinations... sort how the path dependency developed on the famous Qwerty keyboard.......

Even Porsche enthusiasts rue the old Targa...... evidence the Ruf Roadster, and I'm guessing that the 1968 vintage Porsche Targa may have had a simliar rationale.
