Why?
They look nothing alike, except for the Chevy emblem.
Edit to add... well they both have tires and wheeels, windows and doors too.

Like I have said before, Jalopnik are the toilet of the auto publication world. I believe not a single word they say about anything, unless I hear it from someone else as well. Even if they get the C7 spot on, which I highly doubt, my opinion of them will remain the same.

I don't think this car has any relevance to C7.

The Jalopnik C7 drawings were first posted in Nov 2011. The Chevrolet concept Tru 140 S was not shown to the public until a month later in Jan 2012. The wheels on the Tru are identical to the Jalopnik drawing . The tail lights are also very similar . The quarter window is similar as are the lower body lines. This realtime Chevrolet concept " Tru " is the most proof to date that Jalopnik has the C7 as accurate as a " sketch " will allow. One more thing, take a look at the taillights on the 130R concept.....they are actually done quite well and you can bet that something very similar will be on the C7.

Perhaps.
But maybe GM wants those little cars regarded by entry level buyers as "baby Camaros".

I understand the disgust regarding the " Camaro taillights" but Camaro 's have conventional light bulb taillights. The C 7 will share a " corporate shape " that are similar but the finished product will be more " Audi LED " . Another GM concept one might find clues from would be their " Miray " . Again, the taillights on these concepts are very similar to what we will see on the C7

Jalopnik is pretty low life. But that's precisely what makes them credible. They broke rules to gain notoriety. So their stuff is real. Of course, what they showed may have been work in progress. It could be 85% accurate.

The wheels? They needed wheels for a concept car, and grabbed a set of C7 wheels, figuring it was a nice easter egg.
I don't discount the idea of familial resemblance, but I don't think the baby-sport twins say anything specific about C7 taillights. We can glean as much by looking at the 2013 Malibu.
Edit: those aren't the same wheels we saw on the snow car. They're similar, but the snow car's tuning forks are longer and have mass inside the base of the forks, not between the forks. The Tru wheels look bulky and small; I think Corvette owners want a more traditional five-skinny-spokes look. (Not me but I'm weird.) I think we're looking at one of the proposed designs for C7 wheels, probably one that was rejected.
Edit2: not even that. The Tru wheels are dished show-car deep; the snow car's hardly at all. Those Tru wheels weren't for production.

Jinx used the term " familial " and that very accurately describes the Chevrolet Tru 140S concept when compared to the Jalopnik C7 drawings. Like most of you I believe that the drawing , no matter how similar it is to the the real C7, does not transcend the true beauty of it's design. Also, if we had been given a drawing of the ZR 1 back in 2004 before seeing a regular C6 in person we may have thought the design to be entirely too " busy "and " gaudy " , just as I feel about the latest drawing from Jalopnik. I still feel the current ZR1 looks much better in person than in pictures .

Current ZR is indeed smoking hot.

Yes and to answer OnPoint and BlueOx' s question "What does the Tru have to do with the C7 ?". The comparison between the 2 cars proves that Jalopnik's drawing is the closest we've come to the C7.
