In comparison, I was driving with another buddy on the hwy in his 2009 ZO6 and he's getting 28 mpg cruising at 75mph....enough said! My GT3 used to scream down the hwy at 75 mph and would chew gas in the process while my buddy's ZO6 engine would just yawn along at 75mph at 2000 rpms. I was amazed and sold on a ZO6 at that point. Now just waiting to see the C7 before making a purchase. The wait is agonising!

I don't think so. Not if that V6 has the ability of tearing up V8's and making mincemeat of them. At that point it will become the standard. It's not hard to see that the industry can't just keep making bigger and bigger engines getting upwards of 1000 hp. Something has to change. I think the 427 ends that era. I'm open to that as much as I was to see pop ups and round tailights go.

well it better not stop at just matching current performance...it needs to also bring significantly better gas mileage...and we are not yet seeing that with these high output V6s from other brands. I am not for moving to a V6 just for the sake of calling it a V6. It better bring with it serious performand AND significant gas mileage improvements. Otherwise, those other brands can keep their V6s. I don't need one in my vette. Just my opinion.

My Z06 yawns at 93 MPH at 2,000 RPM. At 75 MPH it's turning 1615 RPM.
