Will GM Trash these Test mules
I was wondering what will become of these C7 Mules we have seen GM testing with after Production starts.
Are the licensed?
Will they be scraped?

I'm sure Mike Yager has a post-it note on his desk to remind him to keep checking up to see if they're for sale :-) He's got an alpha and beta C5...

some might get junked or parted out or used to crash tests or kept for future R&D. A handful are kept by GM and, some eventually get sold to the public in auctions. However, if they are sold to the public, they have to be sold with a governor on it and never be for "on road" use.

They more than likely are hand built prototypes like the early C5 units were and don't have correct VINs. They may be different from car to car as they test different things and change things as they go. They won't be sold to the public since they can't be licensed without a VIN.

I know back in the C5 testing days they kept a bunch of them. They used to be on display @ the NCM... one was a 4th gen Camaro with funky wheelbase and the others were the "alpha" and "beta" cars. I think I have pics around somewhere still.
