Hide away headlights will not hide away
I have a 77 that needs alot of help but I love the car. I took it in to have a starting problem looked at and the tracked the problem to frayed wires in the steering coloum. But when I went to pick it up the headlights were up and would not go down. Good year said they have looked at a switch up under the dash and that seems to bed ok. Also they were able to get the right one to work properly but the left one stays stuck in the open position. Anyone have any ideas on what could fix this problem?

Safety Car
WOW. I knew that some people had hoped the C7 would look like a C3, but chosing a 77 as an inspiartion is the wrong place to start. Just joking with ya, I am one to talk.
In all seriousnous, you will get better results if you post in trhe C3 section. Good luck bro.

My '77 does the same exact thing from time to time. Here is how I solve the problem: While the car is running, be sure that the light switch is fully pushed into the off position, and lightly lift on the light(s) that are affected. Once you lightly lift on the light(s) and release them, they should smoothly retract. It may take a couple of tries, but should only take a couple at the maximum.
