Doesn't sound appreciably different than the C6 to me.

Damn. You guys are good identifying engine displacement from a fairly low quality audio clip!

With a little better quality and longer audio clip would it be possible to identify whether it is dry sump and what brand of spark plugs are installed???

That really sounds bad, very fart-can like.

I think I can hear Dexos 5-30 sloshing around in there... and the washer fluid container was at about 47.68% capacity.

Agreed, didn't sound much different than my LS3 w/ open exh valves...which is good b/c I'm a big fan of that motor.

Sounds like the 5.5 race motor they use.
It is restricted to 500hp in race trim,( individual runner, two 29.2mm intake air restrictors (series mandated)
http://www.corvetteracing.com/2012-specifications.shtml
Has slightly bigger bore size than 6.2 but less stroke= higher revs
They could get 480hp easy in production base Vettes and the engine is lighter.
Dont know if the low end torque will be as high as the 6.2 but midrange and high end revs will be higher.
Just a wild guess.

Well, the margin of error increases with all the padding and covers and such. But that's pretty close. Oh, and the right rear tire is a 1/2 lb short on air.

I liked the sound...maybe the engine will be enough different engineering wise to be interesting change....sounded good taking off and I doubt that was hard acceleration....I've heard a ferrari go thgough the gears hard and it's a higher whine...higher rpms I think...would love to hear a ZR1 or the C7 wind it up hard all the way....

Given how pathetic the current stock exhaust is, it wouldn't take much to improve it.

He says at the end of the video "with sales beginning late next year".
Is that the general consensus here?

I am a big risk taker and I did not even care if I voided my warranty so I pulled the exhaust fuse and just as I was pushing the starter button in antipation of hearing a fascimile of John Force's funny car , the old lady's Denali pulls up and her rumble drowned out my "Z" car"s pathetic idle.
What was GM thinking here? Escalades and Denali's are "more rumblier" than Vettes !
