Default GM Buying/Working on 8 Spd Auto Trans & DCT

While GM completes it's own 8 speed auto trans over the next year, in the interim it is buying one from Aisan. According to the GMauthority site, GM is also working on a seven speed manual trans and a seven speed DCT auto trans, as per below...

http://gmauthority.com/blog/2012/11/...transmissions/

Use of some of these transmissions in the C7 is mentioned in the short article. The article is interesting, though short on details.

The DCT stuff is old news, though. GM's been working on a DCT for a while to be used on small and low power engines.

They've been testing the C6R with a DCT too. But there hasn't been any news as far as a DCT for the production Corvette.
