Why would they put those ugly square lights on a Corvette....I understand marketing and association but c'mon Corvette is better than that or so I thought...it's not a Camaro or a Malibu.....it's a frickin Corvette....!

Personally, I couldn't care less if the Corvette shares its tail lights with other cars, my concern is that those lights are just ugly.

I wonder if the C1 guys were complaining about them putting BelAir tail lights on the '61 corvette..or the Camaro guys complaining about Corvette tail lights in 1970...

As for the rear tail lights, I agree that the Corvette tail lights have become somewhat of a design trademark, similar to BMW kidney-shaped grills, etc., however the later model C4s had rectangular rear tail lights and our own C5 tail lights are oval vs. circular.
If the rest of the car blows me a way and I have that "gotta have it" gut response I had with the C5, I can work around the tail lights.

I still doubt that the car will look like that.

There is no way in hell that the new C7 will have those tail lights. I think it's just to throw us off. I also doubt that it will have four exhaust tips in a row coming out the center. I think that we will all be very surprised when it's unveiled in mid January.

I do agree that the taillights are not the most pleasing area on the car, but overall, not a bad design IMO.

I agree ....I like the overall design.... and from the front and side...the historial evolution is still there...looking forward to it...but in the end I will continue to own my C5 with much pride.

Unfortunately it all comes down to numbers. The Corvette sales continue to decline and not increase. Let's face it, the Camaro is selling a ton more than the Corvette and I'm sure they're taking some of those features from that vehicle and putting it on the Corvette to hopefully attract more people to the vehicle. If the Corvette continues to follow some of the same patterns it has over the years just to please current Corvette owners it will be extinct. In other words, the game needs to change and we may need to change our opinions to adapt to the new look.
