C7 Debut....what do they have up their sleeve?
Been reading about the C5 intro as of late and while we are all talking C7, it was very interesting to see the fanfare about the C5 release.
They had a magician in Detroit and LA, made the first appearance of car in Detroit, then made it disappear while reappearing in LA. Then it appeared back in Detroit as it appeared to float above the ground.
Makes me wonder what they have in store for us with the C7 debut. Any ideas or rumors?
Oh....also in reading up on the C5 release, they mentioned about how many people were up in arms about how much the C5 looked like the F body cars. Some things never change.

I suspect the debut will feature a bunch of men in suits beaming and gesticulating, some upbeat musical selection, flashing lights, and an eager throng of journalists throwing elbows to get a better shot for their live blog.

Forgot about the dead bear! That is a sure crowd pleaser! I just thought it would be rancid by now. Heard they used it for the Volt launch. Since GM shares hand me down parts in our vettes, of course they will recycle the dead bear. I am now stoked for the C7 debut now!

Hmmm. Car could be doing a hot lap, in camouflage, and as it crosses the finish line in front of the press all the camouflage flies off to reveal the jalopnik car.

What do they have up their sleeve for the reveal?
Actual horsepower ratings...
And I'm confused how most were mad the c5 looked like F-bodies(and by F-bodies everyone means firebird)? The c5 came out as a 1997 model year and the last F-bodies were 1998 model year?

Remember when they revealed the C6 everyone called it the C5-1/2 and it pissed some Corvette execs off, including Hill if I remember correctly. Someone should call the C7 a Camaro-1/2 and see what happens. Better yet, I wonder if anyone's Grandmother would be able to tell the C7 from the Camaro....
All kidding aside, I like the C7 looks and I am very picky.

But seriously, one big reason the C6 was more of a C5.5 was because it shared much of the same platform as the C5.
Other than the tail lights [beats dead horse] the C7 shares virtually nothing with the Camaro.

Dan Akerson: "Ladies and gentlemen, given extensive negative feedback regarding the seventh generation Corvette, we've canceled production. If anybody here is interested in purchasing seventy thousand pairs of square taillights, please contact Fred in accounting. Good night."
