Camaro this / Camaro that

Not the first to justify the c7, by citing a 1960 era muscle car example.
Is this what most sports car buyers want, and if not, why continue to beat them over the head with it, going for the submission and/or kill?

I agree
You don't pay the premium price for the flagship to only get the damn rowboat.
So the argument is only valid if it actually comes out that way 1/13/13. The argument is valid in the debate over the renderings. It will be valid if it comes to pass. Just because the viwepoint isn't acceptable to some.....never invalidates the point. It is what it is, or what it maybe.....in 10 days!
Who cares if it did look like a Camaro in the rear? You'll get over it and just tune out those comments. Besides....all the Camaro guys are gonna give you the thumbs up everytime they pass by.

I can't wait or those Camaro ZL1 Fan boys to give me a wave when I go by them in my new C7.

Yes but sweetheart this car is going to be on the up side of 80 grand for the most part. For my 80K I don't want my car looking like anything else but a Corvette. I also don't want a C4 shaped dash with Camaro ***** I owned this design shape before on my many C4s. I want Corvette heritage in a swoopy modern package. The front end I can stomach even the 2013 Taurus grill but the rest needs to be more Corvette for my dalla$

That is the way. Confront it, repel it until it dies the death of the ill conceived.

Lets be honest. Some of us buy the car for the looks, some buy it for performance. I don't think anyone here will buy the car for the price. It's actually quite high compared to other non sport cars.
Like some of the members on this board, I totally dislike the camero back end. I have personally rented a 2012 camero for 3 weeks and dislike it. Everyone is entitled to his own opinion. Could you imagine if GM made the corvette with the front end that looks like a Mercedes or the boxy backend like the mustang? A highly priced car like the corvette should have its own design cues. Didn't they said the C7 was completely redesigned from the ground up? If this is the case, they shouldn't be carrying the design cues from other inferior models

But on the other hand, speaking of Mercedes Benz:
The roughly $200k+ SL65:
The mere $42k SLK250:

Nothing agaisnt these cars, but I'll gladly leave them to the "true" car guys. Not this guy...and not ever at those price points. Too many far nicer classic cars out there (IMO) at even 1/5th the price.

Granted, it's possible that a FULLY OPTIONED (and I mean EVERY SINGLE option available) C7 convertible could possibly approach $80k MSRP (not actually what you'll pay, even early on in the model run)...but if Jet actually thinks that a 'nicely equipped' C7 coupe will be any where near that much then he's sorely mistaken.

I was just over on the Camero forum, and they are all pissed that GM has the nerve to make the C7 rear look like their beloved car. They pretty much agreed that when C7 owners try and wave at them, they are going to flip the bird to the Vette owners. Go figure.
Can't we all just get along?

LS1LT1 I notice the Mecerdes Benz in the photo you posted has a retractable hardtop just like my 2012 BMW Z4. All for only $42K. How do they do it. And I don't see the stick on vinyl roof or Vogue gold line tires. And no big paint stripe on the hood. Ya got to love Corvette marketing of special models. No new cutting edge technology, just stiching on ther headrest and a paint stripe.

Did I mention my 34,000 mile 63 SWC has covair parts as well.
So........ The most iconic sports car in history of our specific brand the corvette has actual loaner parts as well...
I must be an idiot collecting Shelby's and old corvettes with all these non-proprietary parts....... My accountant thinks differently as they have been appreciating nicely, even with those crappy loaner pieces.
